7 for All Mankind

7 For All Mankind (often referred to simply as Seven, Seven Jeans or 7FAM) is an American denim brand founded by Michael Glasser, Peter Koral, and Jerome Dahan in 2000 and headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Since 2007, it has been owned by the VF Corporation.

7 for All Mankind began by designing women's jeans. A men's jeans line was introduced in fall 2002, and its Children Denim Collection for boys and girls in fall 2005. 7 for All Mankind also produces other clothing items such as skirts, shorts, and denim jackets. The brand is sold in over 80 countries including Europe, Canada, and Japan.

History

Dahan and Glasser, denim designers who had worked in the apparel industry for years, created the company in response to what they saw as a void in the contemporary denim market. Focusing on female denim wearers, it has been stated the company was successful because of the fit, fabrics, washes, attention to detail, and the logo on the product's back pockets. 7 For All Mankind's proximity to Los Angeles makes the brand popular with celebrities and urban young adults.

For All Mankind

For All Mankind is a 1989 documentary film documenting the Apollo missions of NASA. It was directed by Al Reinert with music by Brian Eno.

The film provides 80 minutes of real NASA footage, mostly taken on the Apollo missions of the 1960s and 1970s. The focus of the documentary is on the human views of the space flights, and the original mission footage is provided along with the voices of the astronauts, from interviews and from the actual mission recordings. Among those providing narration are Jim Lovell, Michael Collins, Charles Conrad, Jack Swigert, and Ken Mattingly. The film concentrates on the beauty of the Earth as seen from space.

For All Mankind was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1990.

The Phenomenauts

The Phenomenauts is a band from Oakland, California that combines elements of rock and roll, punk, glam, garage rock and new wave along with a futuristic science fiction theme, dubbing their style "Rocket Roll".

The Phenomenauts were formed in 2000 in Oakland, California (which the band, as part of their fictional band biography, refers to as "Earth's capital"), from the band Space Patrol, a 1980s cover band which played on homemade instruments. Two years later, they released their first CD, Rockets And Robots on their own Arlington Lab Records. That year critical success came in the form of being chosen as California's Best Live Band by the East Bay Express and by being called the Best Lifestyle Music artist by the SF Weekly.

The band signed with Springman Records in 2002, and gained notoriety in 2003 for unofficially sneaking onto Warped Tour, from which they were officially invited to play again in 2004 and 2005. The band declined the 2005 offer, opting to instead tour with The Aquabats and the Epoxies.

All Mankind is an Australian rock/indie rock band from Eastwood in Sydney, Australia. The group consists of Richard Beeston (vocals, rhythm guitar & keyboard), David Beeston (drums), Daniel Mayes AKA Dorny (guitar) and Gavin Perkins (bass)

Formation

The band originally formed with Richard and Dave Beeston and Perkins who used to perform as an acoustic act called the Richard Beeston Band, where they mostly played their own music for high schools and university groups. In 2008 Dorny joined the band as they were looking for a bigger rock-orientated sound. All Mankind took their name from the lyric from Pearl Jam’s song, “Mankind”, sung by Stone Gossard, in the album No Code.

All Mankind's sound has been compared to the sound-scapes of bands such as U2, Coldplay, Muse, Keane, Snow Patrol, The Killers and fellow Australian rock band Powderfinger.

Early career

In 2008 All Mankind went into the studio to record their first album ‘Puzzles’ with David Nicholas and Peter Mayes. It was released in May 2008. They later released a digital EP of the same name. The resulting EP was supported by Indie 103.1 FM LA, WRXP New York, Motor FM Germany, KNRK- FM Portland and ABC Australia. The album included songs that are now part of All Mankind's repertoire, "I've Been Looking For This" and "Can You Hear Me".
