Blue Neighbourhood

Blue Neighbourhood is the debut studio album by Australian singer and songwriter Troye Sivan. It was released internationally on 4 December 2015 via EMI Music Australia and Capitol Records America. The album is preceded by Sivan's fourth extended play Wild, which served as a 6-song opening installment to Blue Neighbourhood.

Upon its release, Blue Neighbourhood received critical acclaim and was succeeded by the singles "Wild", "Talk Me Down", and "Youth".

Release and promotion

On 13 October 2015, Sivan revealed that Wild served as an opening introduction to the album. Pre-orders for the album opened on 15 October 2015, with the album reaching No. 1 within hours on iTunes in ten countries, including the United States. "Talk Me Down" was included as a promotional single to those who preorder the album and was the only previously unreleased song made available before release. Those who had already purchased Wild received a discount to purchase Blue Neighbourhood. Sivan also launched merchandise bundles on his site, selling jumpers with the album logo, candles scented to match the mood of his songs, CDs, vinyl, posters, digital downloads, bags, and notebooks. "Youth" was released as the third single from the album. The song premiered exclusively on 12 November on Shazam Top 20 at 7PM AEST and was officially released worldwide after midnight in each country on 13 November.

Fools (EP)

"Fools" EP is the debut music release from half-British, half-Maltese songwriter Lauren Aquilina. Aquilina self-released the EP on October 22, 2012. Without record label support, independent funding, radio support or any PR the EP reached number 10 in the main UK iTunes album chart, peaking ahead of many releases from major labels during that week.

The title track 'Fools' also reached number 72 in the official UK singles chart making her the only British artist to achieve an official chart placement during 2012.

Reception

"Fools" EP received critical acclaim upon its release in 2012, Aquilina's loyal fanbase guided her to becoming the biggest selling independent artist in the UK in 2012 with this single release. The title track 'Fools' was chosen for BBC Radio 1's 'BBC Introducing Playlist' where the song was played on daytime radio throughout January 2013. During this time the EP received a positive response from Greg James, Jen Long and Huw Stephens.

Feist (dog)

A Feist (or Feisty) is a type of small hunting dog, developed via crossbreeding of various other hunting breeds in the rural southern United States.

Description

Feists generally are small (shorter than 18 inches/45 cm, and weigh less than 30 lbs/14 kg), short-coated dogs with long legs and a pointed (snipy) nose. The ears set high on the head and are button, erect, or short hang ears. Traditionally the tail is a natural bobtail or docked. As Feists are bred for hunting, not as show dogs, there is little to no consistency in appearance (breed type), and they may be purebred, crossbred, or mixed breed dogs. They are identified more by the way they hunt and their size than by their appearance.

Individual dogs can hunt in more than one way, but in general, feists work above ground to chase small prey, especially squirrels. This contrasts with terriers or Dachshunds, earthdogs that go to ground to kill or drive out the prey, usually rodents, European rabbits, foxes, or badgers. Most feists have an extreme drive to chase rabbits, squirrels, and all rodents.

Feist (singer)

Leslie Feist (born 13 February 1976), known professionally as Feist, is a Canadian indie pop singer-songwriter, performing both as a solo artist and as a member of the indie rock group Broken Social Scene.

Feist launched her solo music career in 1999 with the release of Monarch. Her subsequent studio albums, Let It Die, released in 2004, and The Reminder, released in 2007, were critically acclaimed and commercially successful, selling over 2.5 million copies. The Reminder earned Feist four Grammy nominations, including a nomination for Best New Artist. She was the top winner at the 2008 Juno Awards in Calgary with five awards, including Songwriter of the Year, Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Album of the Year and Single of the Year. Her fourth studio album, Metals, was released on 30 September 2011. In 2012, Feist collaborated on a split EP with metal group Mastodon, releasing an interactive music video in the process.

Feist received three Juno awards at the 2012 ceremony: Artist of the Year, Adult Alternative Album of the Year for Metals, and Music DVD of the Year for her documentary Look at What the Light Did Now.
