Folk beat n. 1

Folk beat n°1 (1967) is the first album of Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini. It was published under the name "Francesco" alone.

The record is, as the title suggests, a folk album, intended to adapt the genre within a contemporary Italian context parallel to the music of Phil Ochs or Bob Dylan.Folk beat n.1 deals with various themes, including critiques and satires of Italian society, as well as tragic accounts of both fictional and historical characters (two lyrical fields which would become commonly associated with the cantautore).

The album itself received little recognition once released, though it is said to contain amongst Guccini's most popular songs, which would later become blueprints for his style (including his particular accent, characteristic of the Emilia-Romagna region). The record received a stellar review from Allmusic, where it was said to contain the foundations for his successful career, and be the first showcase of Guccini's songwriting talent; his voice was also deemed "compelling".

N1 (rocket)

The N1 (Russian: Н1, from Носитель, Nossitel, carrier) was a heavy lift rocket launch vehicle intended to deliver payloads beyond low Earth orbit, acting as the Soviet counterpart to the US Saturn V. It was designed with crewed extra-orbital travel in mind. Development work started on the N1 in 1959. Its first stage is the most powerful rocket stage ever built.

The N1-L3 version was developed to compete with the United States Apollo-Saturn V to land a man on the Moon, using the same lunar orbit rendezvous method. The basic N1 launch vehicle had three stages, which was to carry the L3 lunar payload into low Earth orbit with two cosmonauts. The L3 contained an Earth departure stage; another stage used for mid-course corrections, lunar orbit insertion, and powered descent initiation; a single-pilot LK Lander spacecraft; and a two-pilot Soyuz 7K-LOK lunar orbital spacecraft for return to Earth. The Apollo spacecraft was able to carry three astronauts (landing two on the Moon), and did not require the extra two rocket stages.

n.1 or Nº 1 (read as Número 1 in Portuguese) is the debut album of the French-born Portuguese singer David Carreira. It was released on 17 October 2011 on the Portuguese Farol Música label and reached number one on the official Portuguese Albums Chart.
