Flight for Life

Flight for Life is a prehospital care service with many bases of operation across the United States. Flight for Life is primarily known for its emergency medical helicopter transport, but also operates a fleet of land vehicles and fixed-wing aircraft for the transport of critically ill patients to specialized medical care. Emergency medical transport via helicopter is an extremely valuable resource for victims of any serious medical condition. Helicopter transport is normally reserved for the most critically injured patients or patients who cannot be reached by traditional means of Emergency medical services. Helicopter transport is also especially useful for the transport of critically wounded patients to specialty medical facilities, such as burn, pediatric, or advanced trauma centers, that may be further away from the location of injury. Many rural communities rely on the speed of the helicopter to reach and evacuate their most serious patients to an available medical center. The helicopter may also be used for search and rescue operations in conjunction with ground units or alone.

Flight for Life (UK)

Flight For Life is a UK-based fund rising organization whose main beneficiaries are cancer related charities.

Primarily based around 4 people Les Field, Dave Blofeld, Tony Parr & Jacqui Parker, The Flight For Life team raised over £30,000 in 2006.

Most events are based on long distance endurance flying in 3-axis microlight aircraft, G-SIMP (Jabiru UL450), G-BZNH (Rans S6ES) & G-BSOR (CFM Shadow).

The team achieved a Guinness world record in 2006 flying around the coast of the UK in 5 days. UK Flyer Magazine December 2006

The Team plan to make a return trip to Africa in 2008 using a microlight and an Autogyro, breaking 6 world records.

Flight for Life (Valley Hospital)

Valley Hospital Medical Center established Southern Nevada's first air ambulance service, Flight for Life, in 1980. Milton Schwartz opened the hospital in 1971.

History

The first helicopter was an Aerospatiale SA.316/319 Alouette III, decorated with the Star of Life. The helicopter was owned by RTS Helicopters and was used for 2 years. In 1982 RTS traded in the Alouette for a newer AS-355F2 (N57901) with a deep blue and sea green paint scheme. On December 7, 1983, N57901 was destroyed when it collided with Black Mountain. The hospital put a memorial plaque on the helipad. Valley Hospital signed a contract with Medical Aviation Inc. (a subsidiary of Metro Aviation), to sustain the service. With the new contract, Valley Hospital received a BO105 CBS4 (N10VH) named Lifeguard 1 based at the hospital, as well as loaner aircraft to use when the main helicopter was in heavy maintenance. Lifeguard 1 had an orange and black paint scheme, with a silver stripe. In 1998, Valley Hospital received a second BO105 CBS5 (N911VH), which they dubbed Lifeguard 1, renaming the older helicopter Lifeguard 2. Metro Aviation shipped Valley Hospital another upgraded helicopter, a BK117 B2 (N117VH). This again necessitated renaming the fleet, with the newest helicopter again being designated Lifeguard 1. Metro Aviation sold the program to Mercy Air on December 4, 2001, effectively shutting down the Flight for Life service under that name, although the service was still provided.

DWRR-FM

DWRR-FM (101.9 FM) – branded as MOR 101.9 For Life! Manila – is a 24-hour music radio station of the ABS–CBN Corporation, and is also the flagship FM station of My Only Radio Network in the Philippines.

Originally founded in 1956 as one of the radio stations of Chronicle Broadcasting Network (ABS-CBN), revived in 1986 and reformatted several times, it is broadcast live throughout the Philippine archipelago as well as throughout the world via The Filipino Channel (TFC). The studios are located at ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center, Sgt. Esguerra Ave., Cor Mo. Ignacia St., Diliman, Quezon City and its 22.5 kW transmitter is located at the Eugenio Lopez Center, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City, Rizal.

For Life (album)

For Life is the second studio album by Soul for Real, released on September 24, 1996. The album was released quickly after their debut studio album Candy Rain. During that time, Uptown Records founder Andre Harrell left the label to become the president at Motown Records.MCA Music Entertainment Group CEO Doug Morris promoted Heavy D. as the new president of Uptown several months before the release of For Life. As a result, Uptown was moved from its parent company MCA Records to the newly launched Doug Morris label Universal Records.

The first single released was the Chucky Thompson produced first single "Never Felt This Way", followed by the Sean "Puffy" Combs & Stevie J. produced second single "Love You So". Despite getting good reviews, the album was met with the sophomore jinx. This album would be the first of a long line of R&B albums that were underpromoted while being released under Universal Records. For Life would be their last album recorded for a major label, as they would go independent for their next album.
