Flesh and Blood may refer to:
Flesh and Blood is a mystery novel by Jonathan Kellerman
The mother of a former patient (Lauren Teague) calls Alex Delaware to tell him that the patient is missing. Alex had treated Lauren briefly as a teenager, and feels as if he failed in reaching her. He plans to make up for it by finding and helping her. After Lauren's body is found, Milo and Alex begin to unravel her past to find her killer.
Lauren was killed by Cheryl, her newfound father's ex-wife, as it turns out the family she grew up with was not her own. The phrase "flesh and blood" is often used to refer to family.
Alex receives a call from the mother of an ex-patient, Lauren Teague. Considering it unresolved business, Alex contacts Milo and they ask around to see if they can find her. Her body turns up and the missing person case turns into a murder investigation.
Alex and Milo visit her parents, former co-workers, roommates, and employers. They follow connections back and find that Lauren had $350,000 saved up, probably earned from prostitution. She had recently started to attend college, and was part of an intimacy experiment. When a former co-worker ends up dead after speaking to them, they know the murder was no ordinary mugging. Then Lauren's mother is killed, presumably by her husband.
"Flesh and Blood" is a two-part episode from the seventh season of the science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager.
The U.S.S. Voyager responds to a Hirogen distress call. They discover a Hirogen ship that has been turned into a large holodeck using modified Starfleet technology Voyager had supplied the race earlier. All but one of the crew are dead; the survivor, an engineer named Donik, reveals they used the holograms as training programs, but the holograms had found a way to disable security controls and kill the crew before escaping in a holo-emitter-equipped vessel. Donik offers to help track down the ship. Voyager is soon met by another Hirogen ship also responding to the distress call. Donik helps convincing the Alpha Hirogen to work with Voyager to find the holo-ship.
The two ships are led into a trap set by the holograms, causing severe damage and casualties to the Hirogen ship including the Alpha, and leaving Voyager helpless to stop the holograms from abducting Voyager's holographic Doctor before escaping. Voyager rescues the surviving Hirogen, and the Beta, now in command, agrees to still help Voyager, though secretly orders his crew to attempt to break into Voyager's systems and send a message to their homeworld for help. To avoid falling into a similar trap, Lt. Torres and Donik modify the deflector dish to emit an anti-photon pulse that will destabilize the holograms.
Caught in the gridlock nose to tail across all lanes
Smog nearly chocking me as the car horns go insane
Patiently waiting to get their old jobs backs
Carrying the human race proudly on their backs
How easily forgotten,
How easily we're led
How hard the path is trodden
From when horsepower meant what it said
I've got a hundred horses hidden in between my wheels
But i can't put my foot down and jumped the fences in the field
Patiently waiting to get their old jobs back
How easily forgotten,
How easily we're led
How hard the path is trodden
From when horsepower meant what it said
And if we're keeping up with progress why am i standing still
Maybe we should take a walk and talk to the horses on the hill
How easily forgotten,
How easily we're led
How hard the path is trodden
From when horsepower meant what it said
How hard the path is trodden
