Florida's 10th congressional district

Florida's 10th congressional district is an electoral district for the U.S. Congress and was reassigned in 2012, effective January 2013, from the Gulf coast to inland central Florida. The district includes parts of western Orange County, most of Lake County, as well as a northern section of Polk County. It is situated in Central Florida, along the I-4 corridor. Cities and towns that are encompassed by the 10th district include parts of Orlando, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Windermere, Clermont, Leesburg, and Auburndale.

It is currently represented by Republican Daniel Webster. Due to redistricting after the 2010 census, this district was re-numbered, and slightly reconfigured from the former 8th District. It is considered a swing district, with a slight Republican-leaning advantage.

The former 10th district, during 2003–2012, covered areas further west and encompassed much of Pinellas County, on the Gulf coast of central Florida.

Republican incumbent Daniel Webster is running for re-election. His Democratic opponent from 2012, Val Demings, pulled out of a possible re-match to run for Orange County Mayor instead. Ultimately, she pulled out of that race as well. Webster was unopposed in the Republican primary.

C-701

The C-701 is a Chinese missile that is roughly comparable to the American AGM-65 A/B/D/H Maverick air-to-surface missile. However, the C-701 is smaller and has less than half the weight of the AGM-65 A/B/D/H Maverick.

History

The C-701 was developed by the China Precision Machinery Import Export Co or CPMIEC. The air-launched television guided version (C-701T) was the first to appear, while the surface-launched version followed. The third version to appear was version with the imaging infrared seeker and after that, the version after that was the one with radar guidance (C-701R). A millimetre-wave radar seeker (C-703) was revealed to be under development in 2002, though the designation was not revealed until six years later in 2008 during the 7th Zhuhai Airshow.

Although the existence of the first two versions has been reported for a long time, it was not until the six Zhuhai Airshow held near the end of 2006 did these report have been officially confirmed by the Chinese government in public. All of the versions are offered for export.

Florida State Road 10

State Road 10 (SR 10), also known as Atlantic Boulevard, is a major east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Florida. Mostly unsigned in favor of U.S. Highway 90, it runs from the Alabama state line (Perdido River) to Atlantic Beach. The only sections that are not signed as US 90 are north of Pensacola, where US 90 uses SR 10A and SR 10 is signed as U.S. Highway 90 Alternate, and east of south Jacksonville, where US 90 uses unsigned SR 212.

Route description

The only signed section of SR 10 is in Jacksonville and Atlantic Beach. Signage begins at the interchange with Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 1, where US 1 splits to the south. There is a signed concurrency east to the split with US 90. Where US 90 and SR 10 split, SR 10 is known as Atlantic Boulevard, while US 90 is known as Beach Boulevard (unsigned State Road 212) to Jacksonville Beach.

About a mile (2 km) before the east end of SR 10, at the east end of the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway, SR A1A (Mayport Road) joins from the north. There is an incorrect overhead sign that says the Mayport Road flyover ramp is SR 101, however the SR 101 designation does not begin on Mayport Road for another 2.3 miles (3.6 km). At the exit, Mayport Road is SR A1A. The two roads run concurrently on Atlantic Boulevard to Third Street, where SR 10 ends and SR A1A turns south. (Atlantic Boulevard continues several blocks further as a local road to the beach.)
