  • A Public Affair

A Public Affair is the fifth studio album by American pop singer Jessica Simpson. The album was released on August 26, 2006 in the United States by Epic Records. The album is Simpson's first effort following her divorce from Nick Lachey in early 2006.

The album was produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Cory Rooney, Scott Storch, Stargate and Lester Mendez. Simpson appears as a co-writer of nine of the thirteen songs on the album. A Public Affair received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who complimented its musical diversity from Simpson's previous albums, while also criticizing its length. The album debuted at #5 on the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 101,000 copies. A Public Affair has sold 500,000 units in the US and 1,000,000 copies worldwide to date. It is the last pop album Simpson released before switching to country music.

Three singles were released from the record, the lead single, "A Public Affair" was the album's most successful single, became Simpson's sixth top-twenty single in the US and her third song to reach number 14 tied with "With You" (2004) and "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" (2005). The next single, "I Belong to Me", failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The third single "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" was released as a promo single. Her version of the song barely made the Pop 100, and failed to make the Billboard Hot 100 chart, however, it charted to no. 20 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which is equivalent to no. 120. Simpson's version has new lyrics and only preserves the chorus of the song.

    Vigo

Vigo (/ˈvɡ/, Galician: [ˈbiɣo], locally: [ˈbiħo, -xo], Spanish: [ˈbiɣo]) is a city on the Atlantic Ocean in the province of Pontevedra, in Galicia, north-west Spain.

Vigo is the most populous municipality in Galicia, and the 14th in Spain.

Vigo is in the south-west of Galicia, in the southern part of Vigo Bay. In the north-east, it borders the municipality of Redondela, in the east Mos, in the south O Porriño and Gondomar, and in the south-west Nigrán. On the other side of the bay are the municipalities of Cangas and Moaña. They are all part of the southern Galician region called Rias Baixas. Vigo is located just north of the border with Portugal and its nearest larger city is Portugal's second largest city of Porto.

Vigo and its metropolitan area is one of the main economic agents of the region.

    History

In the Middle Ages, the small village of Vigo was part of the territory of Galician speaking neighbouring towns, particularly Tui, and suffered several Viking attacks. However, the number of inhabitants was so small that, historically, Vigo was not considered to be a real village until around the 15th century, when the earliest records began.

    Fired Up

    by: Hanson

This thing is built like a war machine
Burning up red hot like kerosene
This wrecking ball is about to drop
Once we start rolling we'll never stop
    You'd better run and hide
'Cause we're about to play with fire
We're not turning around this time, let's get fired up
We're not turning around this time, let's get fired up
    Game, set, match!
Don't pause, don't bluff, just play to win
This timber box is set to blow
Light the fuse, watch them fall like dominoes
    You'd better run and hide
'Cause we're about to play with fire
We're not turning around this time, let's get fired up
We're not turning it upside down, let's get fired up
Come with us if you want to live
Bring what you've got, what you've got to give
    We're stirrin' dynamite
We're gonna burn the mother down tonight
    Let's get fired up
    Let's get fired up
    Let's get fired up
    Let's get fired up
