Jason Arnold, known by his stage name ShyBoy, is an American singer, songwriter, producer and mashup artist.
ShyBoy's work as a vocalist and songwriter has been featured in numerous hit TV shows, films and video games including Capcom's multi-platinum game Devil May Cry 4, the trailer for Dimension films' Scream 4 and the hit CW show, America’s Next Top Model. ShyBoy has performed on stages across the U.S., Canada and Europe (including the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas) and has also appeared on notable web series such as Stripped Down Live with Curt Smith (of Tears for Fears).[1][2][3][4]
As lead singer for the band Hypnogaja, ShyBoy has garnered a following of over 1 million people on Twitter and has co-written and co-produced numerous recordings, including the concept LP Truth Decay, rated 9 out of 10 stars by Outburn magazine's George Pacheco, who described it as "an expertly crafted album." His vocal from Hypnogaja's song "Welcome to the Future" was remixed and released by DJs Kristina Sky, Randy Boyer and Darude - and World-premiered on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Judge Jules. The Hollywood Music In Media Awards awarded ShyBoy Best Male Vocal for Hypnogaja's remake of Donna Summer's worldwide hit On The Radio. [5][6][7][8][9]
As a mashup artist and DJ, ShyBoy has produced numerous concept albums (including The RuPaul Mixtape) and spins sets at clubs internationally. He is a resident DJ at Adrian & the Mysterious D's club Bootie in Los Angeles, where he spins sets regularly. He's also performed sets at other Bootie locations in the U.S. and Europe, including San Francisco, Brooklyn and Berlin.[10]
ShyBoy is currently working on his forthcoming solo debut (to be entitled Water on Mars). The project is set to include collaborations with hit songwriters such as Allee Willis, Ivo Moring, Wendy Waldman, David Batteau, Amy Powers and several others. His debut solo single, "Bird in Flight," premiered on April 17, 2012. A music video and mixtape are set to follow in the coming months.[11][12]
