A welder or welder operator is a tradesperson who specializes in welding materials together. The term welder refers to the operator, the machine is referred to as the welding power supply. The materials to be joined can be metals (such as steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel etc.) or varieties of plastic or polymer. Welders typically have to have good dexterity and attention to detail, as well as some technical knowledge about the materials being joined and best practices in the field.
Welding, without the proper precautions appropriate for the process, can be a dangerous and unhealthy practice. However, with the use of new technology and proper protection, the risks of injury and death associated with welding can be greatly reduced. Because many common welding procedures involve an open electric arc or flame, the risk of burns is significant. To prevent them, welders wear personal protective equipment in the form of heavy leather gloves and protective long sleeve jackets to avoid exposure to extreme heat and flames. Additionally, the brightness of the weld area leads to a condition called arc eye in which ultraviolet light causes the inflammation of the cornea and can burn the retinas of the eyes. Full face welding helmets with dark face plates are worn to prevent this exposure, and in recent years, new helmet models have been produced that feature a face plate that self-darkens upon exposure to high amounts of UV light. To protect bystanders, opaque welding curtains often surround the welding area. These curtains, made of a polyvinyl chloride plastic film, shield nearby workers from exposure to the UV light from the electric arc, but should not be used to replace the filter glass used in helmets.
Welder is the fifth studio album by American country musician Elizabeth Cook. It was produced by Don Was and released on May 11, 2010 on 31 Tigers Records. The album's title is a reference to Cook's father's former occupation as a welder. Artists performing on the album include Dwight Yoakam, Rodney Crowell, Bones Hillman, and Cook's husband Tim Carroll.
The album received mainly favorable reviews from critics, and was ranked the 23rd best album of 2010 (out of 30) by Rolling Stone.
The Washington Post described the album as Cook's best yet, because it was "rawer [than her previous four albums] in all the best senses of that word."
Brendan Angelides, better known by his stage name Eskmo and Welder, is an American electronic music producer and composer. He has released music on record labels such as Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, and Warp Records. In a 2010 review, rock music critic Robert Christgau credited Eskmo with "Just the kind of weird background music that's guaranteed to engross whenever you lend it both ears."
Angelides' self-titled album, Eskmo, was released on Ninja Tune in 2010. BBC Music said of the album "..Sufficient mind-melting invention here – prior reference points or otherwise – to render Eskmo a hotter property than that chilly moniker might immediately imply." He released the Language and "Terra" EPs on Ancestor in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
In 2015, his follow up album SOL was released on Apollo / R&S records. It featured the artwork of UK feather sculpture artist Kate MccGwire
In 2015 Angelides was hired as Eskmo to score the 2016 Showtime TV series "Billions" starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. He is also scoring an indie feature entitled "The Master Cleanse."

I’ve been looking for you nearly everywhere,
I couldn’t find you.
So here I am driving through the rain
and I don’t know where to go.
I’m sorry, I was so wrong.
I know it since you are gone.
Please forget your pride,
don’t try to hide your love.
IF ONLY I COULD FIND YOU
I’D GIVE YOU MY LIFE AGAIN.
IF ONLY I COULD FIND YOU,
DON’T LIE TO ME,
I KNOW YOU STILL LOVE ME,
AND I DIE WITHOUT YOU.
Another night will end up the same way.
Where could you be now.
A silly error would become a huge mistake,
if I never see you again.
I’m sorry, I was so wrong.
I know it since you are gone.
Please forget your pride,
Don’t try to hide your love.
