Fierce!

Fierce! is an international performance festival produced by Fierce Earth that has taken place annually in and around Birmingham, England since 1997.

The launch of the 2004 festival, in May in Birmingham, England, was a group of hot air balloons that drifted over Birmingham's streets in the early hours of the morning playing soft music to "encourage dreams related to the music".

In May 2007, the artwork Una White was created as part of the festival.

Fierce! 11 will be held over the May Bank Holiday, 23 to 26 May 2008 and the artists taking part in the festival will be chosen by way of a public vote. The voting is due to commence on 20 March 2008 and conclude on 11 April 2008.

The Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Warwick Arts Centre and Birmingham Hippodrome also collaborate heavily in the events.

In 2011 Fierce Festival reappeared after several years absence under the new joint artistic direction of Laura McDermott and Harun Morrison with the tagline 'Live Art. Collision. Super Local. Hyper Now.'

Fierce

Fierce was a British three-piece, all girl R&B group. They were signed to Colin Lester's and Ian McAndrew's Wildstar Records, and scored four hit singles on the UK Singles Chart in 1999 and 2000. The biggest of the hits, "Sweet Love 2K", was a cover of the Anita Baker song "Sweet Love".

Fierce (A&F fragrance)

Fierce (marketed in bold red-lettering as "FIERCE") is a men's fragrance by Abercrombie & Fitch. The cologne was first introduced in 2002. Today, Fierce is the signature scent of the Abercrombie & Fitch brand.

Abercrombie & Fitch has sold over $200 million USD of Fierce since 2002. A&F predict sales of Fierce to be at $90 million USD for fiscal 2009.

Originally packaged in red, the cologne in now encased in a gray box.

Marketing

The marketing grayscale image for the fragrance is a "ripped male torso."

Fierce is the representative scent of A&F. The cologne is sprayed throughout the stores and on clothing as a form of marketing. A&F has spent over $3 million USD for scent-spraying machines for its flagship stores. Increasingly, non-flagship stores are also being equipped with the ceiling installation fragrance distributors.

Abercrombie & Fitch's Christmas 2009 fashion season was themed "FIERCE". In a new marketing move, the seasonal photography bore quotations from prominent historical writers (Arthur Conan Doyle, Don Marquis, Henry Ward Beecher, and Gilbert K. Chesterton) all containing the word "FIERCE" in bold/red.
