Jessica Bailiff

Jessica Bailiff is an American singer-songwriter from Toledo, Ohio. Her music is largely classified as slowcore, although it contains elements of post-rock and shoegaze. Bailiff was discovered by Low's Alan Sparhawk, who recommended her earlier demos to Kranky Records, the label on which Bailiff later recorded. Bailiff collaborated and released records with acts such as Odd Nosdam of Anticon. and cLOUDDEAD fame, Low's Alan Sparhawk, Dave Pearce of Flying Saucer Attack, Casino Versus Japan, Rivulets and Annelies Monseré amongst others. Bailiff was also featured on The Wire's Brain in the Wire compilation.

Feels Like Home (Linda Ronstadt album)

Feels Like Home is an out of print studio album by American singer/songwriter/producer Linda Ronstadt released in 1995. It reached #75 and lasted 12 weeks on the Billboard album chart. It received excellent critical reviews upon release. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the disc sold precisely 188,815 copies in the United States. This album is now out of print physically, although it is available digitally and five of its tracks were subsequently included on Trio II.

A double sided single, Tom Petty's "The Waiting" and "Walk On", was released simultaneously with the album. "Walk On" returned Linda to the Billboard Country Singles chart for the first time as a solo artist (not counting the late 1980s 'Trio' hits) since 1983. The song was previously recorded by Matraca Berg on her 1990 debut album Lying to the Moon.

Adult Contemporary radio picked up the album track "The Blue Train" which reached 31 on that chart and lasted for ten weeks in the chart's Top 40. Album track "Feels Like Home" was incorporated into Randy Newman's musical Randy Newman's Faust, which opened later in 1995, and has been subsequently covered by a number of artists.

Youth (Collective Soul album)

Youth is the sixth studio album by Collective Soul, released in November 2004. The album was the band's first on their own label, EL Music Group, after leaving Atlantic Records following the release of their greatest hits album, Seven Year Itch. The album contains a more balanced pop-rock sound than their previous albums Dosage and Blender.

Background

After 2000's Blender both Ed and Dean Roland went through divorces. The band attempted to work through these circumstances and, according to Dean, at one point had enough material for two CD's. However said material was darker and the band wanted the songs to have "a more positive, 'light at the end of the tunnel'-type vibe " The band eventually scrapped the material and completely started over.
