Feeler may refer to:
Feeler was supposed to have been the Toadies's follow-up album to the critically acclaimed debut Rubberneck; however, its release was denied by Interscope Records. In June 2010 the band announced that they had re-entered the studio to "rediscover" and re-record the album. This nine-song version was released on August 10, 2010.
In 1997, the band decided to end their Rubberneck tour and began work on their follow-up album. In the beginning of 1998, the band entered Arlyn Studios and Pedernales Studio with producer Paul Leary. They recorded 15 songs in consideration for the album, initially planning for a fall 1998 release. By August, due to 'scheduling problems', the album, which now had the tentative title Feeler, was still not mixed or mastered, although there was still hope that it would be released in early 1999. During this time, the band was considering adding more songs for consideration for the album, including the new songs "You'll Come Down" and "Trust Game", as well as older songs including "Cut Me Out" and "Broke Down Stupid".Interscope Records did not approve the finished product, and rejected its release. The band went back into the studio, salvaging some of the songs recorded during the Feeler sessions, and eventually released their second full-length album Hell Below/Stars Above in the spring of 2001.
Feeler is the third studio album by British-based American musician Marcella Detroit. It was first released in September 1996 by AAA Records in the UK, ironically the lead single "I Hate You Now..." was released around the same time as "I Can Drive", the lead single from Detroit's former band Shakespears Sister's third album #3.
Aaron Badgley from Allmusic praised the album, calling it "honest", and "infinitely better than her debut" (Incorrectly referring to Jewel). Andy Gill from The Independent gave the album a negative review, saying "Detroit's problem is one of over-abundant choice – she's a good guitarist, a good pianist, a good vocalist, a good harmonica player, and probably pretty nifty on bass and drums, too, but she needs more discipline as to their application."
"I Hate You Now..." was released as Feeler's lead single in June 1996, and peaked at #107 on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by "Somebody's Mother", which failed to chart, and "Boy" which reached #102. The fourth and final single, "Flower", was released in mid-1997 and failed to chart.
And I know I'm indestructible
And I know I'm indestructible tonight
Break down, come on and tell me its not true
It's a shakedown, come on and tell me who are you
It's so fake now, everything I see right through
I'm ashamed now to say I ever knew you
See the Great Athenians, man they're not even from Athens
And the kid from Avenue A, man he ain't even from Manhattan
And nothing is what it seems so I'll just stand here laughing
And I'm gonna keep on goin' though, I can't get distracted
And I know I'm indestructible
And I know I'm indestructible tonight
Playback, rock and roll come and save me
It's a safe bet that you will never ever betray me
And I'll give back everything that you gave me
And I know that no one can ever ever contrain me
And I won't get bogged down like some American consumer, nah
I'm dancing now to a whole different drummer
And I'll keep listening to the great Joe Strummer
Cause through music we can live forever
