Fascination!

Fascination! is an EP released by the British synthpop band The Human League in 1983. The EP was issued by Virgin Records in North America (though made available in Europe as an import) as a stop-gap release in between the albums Dare (1981) and Hysteria (1984).

The original vinyl release of Fascination! contained six tracks, including two versions of their single "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" as well as "Mirror Man", both of which were hits in the UK and the U.S.

Also included is "Hard Times", which was originally the B-side of their 1981 hit "Love Action" and also appears on the band's 1982 remix album Love and Dancing.

The featured version of "I Love You Too Much" is an earlier version of the song that would later be released on the band's Hysteria album in 1984.

The album was released as a digital download in 2008 with a bonus track, a dub version of "I Love You Too Much".

A CD version was released as part of the "deluxe edition" release of Dare in 2012, minus Hard Times, but with other extra tracks.

Synopsis

Young Scott Doherty (Adam Garcia) gets suspicious when his mother (Jacqueline Bisset) plans to wed Oliver Vance (Stuart Wilson) soon after her husband's untimely death. Scott investigates with Oliver's pretty daughter, Kelly (Alice Evans), who shared Scott's doubts about the upcoming nuptials. Along the way, he falls in love with Kelly, but a fatal explosion turns Scott's life upside down - and the evidence points to him as the murderer. Has he been framed?

Carnival Fascination

Carnival Fascination (formerly Fascination) is the fourth of eight Fantasy-class cruise ships operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Built by Kværner Masa-Yards at its Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, she was floated out on July 1, 1994, and christened Fascination by Jeanne Farcus.

During 2007, in common with all of her Fantasy-class sisters, she had the prefix Carnival added to her name.She is currently home-ported in Jacksonville, Florida, and sails to the Bahamas year-round.

Renovations

The Fascination was given a multimillion-dollar refurbishment while in dry dock during September 2006, during which all 1,026 staterooms and suites were completely renovated with the addition of flat-screen TVs, new furnishings, and refurbished bathrooms, the Coconut Grove Bar and Grill received new carpeting and upholstery, as did the Passage to India Lounge. The Imagination and Sensation Dining Rooms received new carpeting, upholstery, and sound systems and the Grand Atrium Bar was added on the Empress Deck. Bogart's Cafe, a new coffee bar, was added to the Promenade Deck.

Fascination (1932 song)

"Fascination" is a popular waltz song with music (1904) by Fermo Dante Marchetti and lyrics (1905) by Maurice de Féraudy (English lyrics by Dick Manning). It featured in the 1933 film The House on 56th Street, starring Kay Francis, was adapted for the soundtrack of the 1946 film, The Diary of a Chambermaid, starring Paulette Goddard, and then popularized in the 1955 movie The Grand Maneuver by René Clair. The theme was also used prominently in the b&w French film version of Gigi (1949) by Jacqueline Audry. Lastly, it also gained international renown when used in the 1957 movie Love in the Afternoon by Billy Wilder.

A recording by Jane Morgan was released by Kapp Records as catalog number 191, which proved to become her signature song. It first reached the Billboard magazine charts on September 9, 1957. On the Disk Jockey chart, it peaked at #7; on the Best Seller chart, at #12; on the composite chart of the top 100 songs, it reached #11.

It was also recorded by Dinah Shore, Dick Jacobs, Nat King Cole, Earl Grant and David Carroll, all of whose versions, except Grant, made the charts.

Fascination (album)

Fascination is the fourth studio album released by the progressive bluegrass band, The Greencards. It was their first album released on the Sugar Hill Records label. Released on April 21, 2009, it draws inspiration from bluegrass, rock, and blues. The album was described by member Carol Young as their own kind of sound, resulting from several years touring together. The track, "The Crystal Merchant", was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
