Front may refer to:

Front (military)

A military front or battlefront is a contested armed frontier between opposing forces. It can be a local or tactical front, or it can range to a theater. A typical front was the Western Front in France and Belgium in World War I.

Front (magazine)

Front was a British men's magazine. First published by Cabal Communications in 1998, it was created to rival IPC's publication Loaded, catering to a demographic of 16- to 25-year-old males. It began as part of the British "lads' mag" genre of magazines though the covers rejects this description with the statement "Front is no lads' mag".

Whilst a major selling point is the photo-shoots of models, the magazine also focuses heavily on music, films, gadgets and games, plus sections on fashion and sport. Glamour shoots within the magazine usually involve well-known models rather than celebrities.

The magazine has also been responsible for a number of high-profile stunts, most notably smuggling an Eric Cantona lookalike, Karl Power, into the Manchester United team photo during a Champions League game.

On 7 February 2014, Front Magazine announced on its Facebook page that it had ceased operations and the magazine would no longer be published.

On 18 March 2014, Front Magazine announced they would be returning by writing "And FRONT said onto her, I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though FRONT were dead, yet shall FRONT live!"

Taking One for the Team

Taking One for the Team is the fifth studio album by French-Canadian pop punk band Simple Plan. It is scheduled for release on February 19, 2016 through Atlantic Records and represents their first full-length record in nearly five years. Following the release of three buzz singles in mid 2015, the band released "I Don't Wanna Go to Bed" featuring American rapper Nelly as the official lead single for the album on October 16, 2015.

Singles

"I Don't Wanna Go to Bed" was released October 16, 2015 as the album's official lead single. The song features pop and funk influences in a stylistic departure from the pop punk and pop rock of the group's earlier work. A Baywatch-inspired music video premiered October 15, 2015 – a day before the song's digital release. It has since peaked outside the top 50 on the Canadian Hot 100 at number 54.

"Opinion Overload" is the second single from the album Taking One for the Team. It was released on 5 February 2016. The single released two weeks before the album released. This song featured pop punk and alternative rock style.

Farewell (1983 film)

Farewell (Russian: Прощание) is a 1983 Soviet film based on Valentin Rasputin's novel Farewell to Matyora and directed by Elem Klimov.

Plot

The existence of the village of Matyora, located on a small island of the same name, is threatened with flooding by the construction of a dam to serve a hydroelectric power plant. The villagers oppose their displacement and the loss of their traditions, but are eventually forced to bid farewell to their homeland.

Production history

While scouting locations in June 1979 for her planned adaptation of the ecological fable, original director Larisa Shepitko died in a car accident along with four members of her shooting team. After a delay the project was finally completed in 1981 by her widower Elem Klimov and although shelved for a further two years, was eventually given a limited release in the Soviet Union in 1983. Originally chosen to open the 1984 Berlin Film Festival, it was initially refused an export licence until three years later when it was screened in Berlin.

Ayşe Kulin

Ayşe Kulin (born 26 August 1941 in İstanbul) is a Turkish novelist and columnist.

Biography

Kulin was born in Turkey in 1941. Her father, Muhittin Kulin, of Bosniak origin, was one of the first civil engineers in Turkey who founded the State Water Institution; he was soon appointed first director of this institution. Her mother who is a Circassian, Sitare Hanim, is the granddaughter of one of the Ottoman economy ministers.

Kulin graduated in literature from the American College for Girls in Arnavutköy. She released a collection of short stories titled Güneşe Dön Yüzünü in 1984. A short story from this called Gülizar was made into a film titled Kırık Bebek in 1986, for which she won a screenplay award from the Turkish culture ministry. Kulin worked as a screen writer, cinematographer and producer for many films, television series and advertisements. In 1986, she won the Best Cinematographer Award from the Theatre Writers association for her work in the television series Ayaşlı ve Kiracıları.
