In Reverie

In Reverie is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Saves the Day.

Composition

In Reverie showed the band continuing to explore even more than the sounds on Stay What You Are. The music became far more musically sophisticated and mellow in every aspect. Conley's voice also changed, becoming much softer and nasal in timbre.

"What Went Wrong" is about a kid who is being strip-searched despite having done nothing wrong.

Release

On June 10, 2003 In Reverie was announced for release. It was released through DreamWorks on September 16. A few weeks after the album's release, DreamWorks was absorbed by Interscope Records and not long after, Saves the Day were dropped from the label.

In April 2009, the band was tentatively planning to re-release the album with up to 12 additional tracks, including demos and B-sides.

Reception

In Reverie is Saves the Day's highest-charting album to date, reaching number 27 on the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003. The album was a commercial disappointment for the band and would soon change the bands direction in their next two albums Sound the Alarm and Under the Boards.

Beyond Dawn

Beyond Dawn is a Norwegian avant-garde metal band turned electropop composed of Espen Ingierd, Petter Haavik, Tore Gjedrem, and Einar Sjursø. They are described on their official website as "Norway's Best & Least Selling Act", which most likely insinuates Beyond Dawn's distinct artistic integrity being connected with their relative lack of commercial success. After two demo tapes in 1990 and 1991, the band were picked up by French label Adipocere Records, which made possible the band's first two commercial releases, 1993's Up Through the Linear Shades 7" and 1994's Longing For Scarlet Days EP. In 1995, Beyond Dawn released their critically acclaimed full length debut Pity Love on Candlelight Records. Soon after, the band began work on an album intended to be a departure from the doom metal music they were becoming known for, but their record label was less than pleased with the band's drastic change in sound and they were soon in search of a new label. They eventually signed with Misanthropy Records and released Revelry in 1998 to more critical praise. Beyond Dawn eventually resumed work on the would-be 1996 album and, after adding additional material and overdubs, released In Reverie in 1999 on Eibon Records, which would also be reissued in 2005 with two bonus tracks included. During the latter half of 1999, they released Electric Sulking Machine on the Peaceville label, which soon became a favorite amongst fans and remains sought after due to its limited pressing.

Farø

Farø is an island in Denmark, located between the islands Sjælland and Falster. It has an area of 0.93 km² and has a population of four people (2006). Administratively it is part of Vordingborg Municipality.

The Farø Bridges (Farøbroerne) connect Sjælland with Falster via Farø, on the European Routes E47 and E55 combined. Junction 42 of E55 is located on the western side of Farø. The island is connected by causeway with the islands of Bogø and Møn by route 287 Grønsundvej.
