Fanore (Irish: Fánóir, Fán Óir, meaning "the golden slope") is a small village in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland.
Lying on the road between Ballyvaughan and Doolin, Fanore has an extensive sandy beach. The village is very popular with walkers, surfers, tourists and is particularly interesting to botanists, owing to its location on the edge of the Burren – renowned for its unique flora and fauna. It has a pub, a post office/shop, and a restaurant, as well as a surfing school near the beach.
Fanore has appeared many times on Irish television: in particular, the Father Ted series often featured scenes filmed in Fanore and its surrounding villages. Phoebe Prince lived in Fanore before moving to the United States in 2009.
Bus Éireann route 350 links Fanore to several locations: Ennis, Ennistymon, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, Kinvara and Galway. There are a number of journeys each way daily. Onward rail and bus connections are available at Ennis and Galway.
Baby take me onto higher ground
Make me holy
Help me control it
Show me a piece of Heaven
here on Earth
Say a prayer
for all your unlucky ones
who've yet to find God
Big Bang
Life dawns with lust
Every sperm
is sacred to us
In God we trust
My mind is set on the little death
and the magic of rebirth
Oh Lord
Thou who aret on thigh
swollen be thy limb
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
