Famous (Play song)

"Famous" is an English language hit by Swedish girl group Play, taken from the album Under My Skin released April 21, 2010. It is the only number-one single for the group on the Swedish Singles Chart, and their only top 10 hit since Play began in 2001.

The song was released as a one-track digital download on February 15, 2010, while on February 16 it was released as a two-track CD single including the song "Girls" as a B-side. It debuted on the Swedish Singles Chart for the week ending February 19, 2010 at number five, reaching number one the following week and staying there for one week. After five consecutive weeks on the chart, it left for one week before returning for two more, giving it a seven-week run.

Background

In late 2009, as part of the Swedish television program Made in Sweden, the show's judges tried to reunite the Swedish pop group Play which split up in 2005. Three members from the original group were due to take part: Fanny Hamlin, Anaïs Lameche and Rosanna Munter, but Rosanna dropped out two weeks prior to filming. After a search for a third member, Sanne Karlsson, a demo recorder for one of their songs, was chosen. She joined the band and the cameras followed the group throughout the four-episode program in their journey to get back in shape for the music industry. By the last episode of the show on February 11, 2010, "Famous", the show's theme song, was announced as the group's first single since 2004.

Famous-Barr

The Famous-Barr Co. (originally Famous & Barr Co.) was a division of Macy's, Inc. (formerly Federated Department Stores). Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri in the Railway Exchange Building (St. Louis), it was the flagship store of The May Department Stores Company, which was acquired by Federated on August 30, 2005. On February 1, 2006, it was subsumed into the newly created Macy's Midwest division.

Famous-Barr was created in 1911 through the merger of The William Barr Dry Goods Co. and previously May-owned The Famous Clothing Store. Famous-Barr was the first air conditioned department store in the United States. In 1991 it took operational control of the L.S. Ayres division in Indiana, and in 1998 took on The Jones Store in Kansas City when May acquired that chain in the aftermath of the Dillard's acquisition of Mercantile Stores Co. Both chains retained their names, but shut down their headquarters.

The Famous-Barr name was retired on September 9, 2006, when Federated converted most of Macy's regional department stores to the Macy's nameplate. The downtown Saint Louis store and headquarters were first shrunk and then closed in summer 2013; the remaining retail employees moved to other stores, while the headquarters staff moved to Earth City.

Jamal Bush (born November 4, 1975), better known by his stage name Rock (or Big Rock, or alternatively The Rockness Monstah), is an American rapper, famous as a member of hip hop collective Boot Camp Clik and the duo Heltah Skeltah along with Sean Price. He is known for his deep, grimy voice and having a sophisticated and rugged flow.

After releasing two albums with Heltah Skeltah, Nocturnal and Magnum Force, Rock left Duck Down Records and pursued a solo career. He signed to DJ Lethal's Lethal Records and recorded a solo album titled Planet Rock, which was never released after the label folded. He didn't make an appearance on the Clik's 2002 group album The Chosen Few, being the only member of the "Great 8" not to appear.

He made his official return to Duck Down in 2005, making appearances on Sean Price's Monkey Barz album and Smif-N-Wessun's Smif 'N' Wessun: Reloaded album. He's performed songs for a variety of video games including "I Am Rock" for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, "This Is Me" for Blitz The League II and "I Am Rock" for NFL Street 2. He and the Boot Camp released their third group album, The Last Stand, on July 18, 2006.

Famous (2014 film)

Famous (previously known as Main Aur Charles) is a 2014 Indian crime thriller film written and directed by Prawaal Raman. It stars Randeep Hooda as a fictional conman named Charles.

Famous will be released October 2014.

Synopsis

Famous is a fast paced thriller about a man with 14 passports but no country and no name. The enigmatic persona of Charles (known as Sir Charles within prison walls) baffles countless victims and authorities with his cunning wit and charm.

Network

Play is the third biggest cellular network in Poland. PLAY uses EGSM 900 and GSM1800 for its 2G services, UMTS 2100 and UMTS 900 for 3G and LTE1800 and LTE2100 for LTE. Its MCC is 260-06. Thanks to domestic roaming with Polkomtel (Plus) and Centertel (Orange), Play is a nationwide cellular carrier.

Native Network

As of November 3, 2013, Play Mobile has 3288 EGSM 900 BTS, 4143 UMTS 2100 nodeB and 2175 UMTS 900 nodeB's. UMTS 900 and UMTS 2100 network Play calls the 4G network. Currently 82% of population is covered with Play's native 4G network and 40% of population with 2G network. 4G is available in more than 300 cities and towns around Poland. Play started building its 3G network at the beginning of its existence (2007) and announced that its goal is to cover all of Poland with UMTS while provide GSM services through roaming. Play began building its GSM network in March 2009 in apparent bid to reduce roaming costs. EGSM 900 BTS and UMTS 900 nodeB use the same licence frequency. In place when are EGSM 900 usually is not UMTS 900. Play Mobile Broadband (Play Online) products does not used 2G network.

Play (Brad Paisley album)

Play, also known as Play: The Guitar Album, is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Brad Paisley. It was released on November 4, 2008 (see 2008 in country music). Like all of his previous albums, Play was released on Arista Nashville and produced by Frank Rogers. The album is largely instrumental in nature, except for five vocal tracks. One of these tracks, "Start a Band" (a duet with Keith Urban), has been released as a single and has become Paisley's ninth consecutive Number One country hit, and his thirteenth overall. The album cover photograph was taken at Bristow Run Elementary School in Bristow, Virginia.

Content

Play is largely an album of instrumentals, though Paisley sings five duets with other vocalists, including B.B. King, Buck Owens, and Keith Urban. King and Urban both play guitar on their respective duet tracks. Another track, "Cluster Pluck", features James Burton, Vince Gill, Albert Lee, John Jorgenson, Brent Mason, Redd Volkaert and Steve Wariner. The Buck Owens duet is a song which Owens co-wrote. It is not strictly a country music record, featuring jazz guitar and a song described by Paisley as "very heavy metal." The final track, "Waitin' on a Woman", was first included on Paisley's 2005 album Time Well Wasted, and was later re-recorded as a bonus track to 2007's 5th Gear, from which it was released as a single. The version featured here includes guest vocals from Andy Griffith, and is the version used in the song's music video.

Play Framework

Play is an open source web application framework, written in Scala and Java, which follows the model–view–controller (mvc) architectural pattern. It aims to optimize developer productivity by using convention over configuration, hot code reloading and display of errors in the browser.

Support for the Scala programming language has been available since version 1.1 of the framework. In version 2.0, the framework core was rewritten in Scala. Build and deployment was migrated to SBT, and templates use Scala instead of Groovy.

History

Play was created by software developer Guillaume Bort, while working at Zengularity SA (formerly Zenexity). Although the early releases are no longer available online, there is evidence of Play existing as far back as May 2007. In 2007 pre-release versions of the project were available to download from Zenexity's website.

In May 2008 the first published code for 1.0 appeared on Launchpad. This was followed by a full 1.0 release in October 2009.

Play 1.1 was released in November 2010 after a move from Launchpad to GitHub. It included a migration from Apache MINA to JBoss Netty, Scala support, native GlassFish container, an asynchronous web services library, OAuth support, HTTPS support and other features.
