Family Day

Family Day is a public holiday in South Africa, and in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, in the American states of Arizona and Nevada, in Vanuatu, in Vietnam, (as "Family & Community Day") in the Australian Capital Territory, and as the second day of Songkran in Thailand.

Family and Community Day was celebrated on the first Tuesday of November from 2007-2009, coinciding with the Melbourne Cup. This public holiday was declared in 2007. Andrew Barr, ACT Minister for Industrial Relations stated the purpose of the new public holiday was:

"...to enable workers to take a break from their hectic working lives and to spend some quality time with their family and friends. ... Australians do work the longest hours of any country in the western world. We do deserve a break."

From 2010 onwards the date was moved to the first Monday of the September/October school holidays (27 September 2010). Where the first Monday of the school holidays falls on the ACT Labour Day public holiday (first Monday in October), the holiday is moved to the second Monday of the ACT school holidays.

Togetherness (TV series)

Togetherness is an American comedy-drama television series created by Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass and Steve Zissis. The show's first season premiered on HBO on January 11, 2015. The series has been renewed for an eight-episode second season, which will premiere on February 21, 2016.

The first season received positive reviews from many critics. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gave the first season a 92% approval rating, with an average rating of 7.7 out of 10 based on 37 critic reviews. The critical consensus reads: "Togetherness is a delightful surprise that interweaves day-to-day life with moving, dramatic characters who have an affinity for deprecating, squirmy humor."Metacritic gave the first season a score of 79 based on 23 critic reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".IGN reviewer Matt Fowler gave the entire first season an 8.3 out of 10, saying that "The Duplass brothers, along with several wonderful performances, have managed to take an oft-trodden road and paved it fresh."

Public holidays in Vietnam

Public holidays in Vietnam are days when workers get the day off work. Prior to 2007, Vietnamese workers observed 8 days of public holiday a year, among the lowest in the region. On 28 March 2007 the government added the traditional holiday commemorating the mythical Hùng Kings to its list of public holidays, increasing the number of days to 10. As in most other nations, if a holiday falls during the weekend, it is observed on the following Monday.
