In early February 2010 Elton John and Billy Joel set out on another leg of their ever-popular concert series Face to Face.[1] Most of these shows had been rescheduled from the year before when John had contracted E.Coli forcing the pair to cancel the concerts planned for the fall of 2009, Joel was also unwell at the time of the gigs the previous year.[2][3][4][5]
Joel denied rumors in the trade press that he canceled a summer 2010 leg of the tour, claiming there were never any dates booked and that he intended to take the year off.[6] Joel told Rolling Stone magazine: "We'll probably pick it up again. It's always fun playing with him.
Joel stated in 2012 that he would no longer tour with Elton due to the fact that it restrains his setlists.[7][8]

The face-to-face relation (French: rapport de face à face) is a concept in the French philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas' thought on human sociality. It means that, ethically, people are responsible to one-another in the face-to-face encounter. Specifically, Lévinas says that the human face "orders and ordains" us. It calls the subject into “giving and serving” the Other.
Face-to-face is similar to Mikhail Bakhtin's ethical concept in art and answerability and Martin Heidegger's concept of the authentic guilt (present/face-to-face) as opposed to an inauthentic other.
Lévinas' phenomenological account of the "face-to-face" encounter serves as the basis for his ethics and the rest of his philosophy. For Lévinas, "Ethics is the first philosophy." Lévinas argues that the encounter of the Other through the face reveals a certain poverty which forbids a reduction to Sameness and, simultaneously, installs a responsibility for the Other in the Self.
Lévinas' account of the face-to-face encounter bears many similarities to Martin Buber's "I and Thou" relation. Its influence is also particularly pronounced in Jacques Derrida's ethical writings. (However, some post-structuralist thinkers maintain that Derrida does not agree with Lévinas. See, perhaps most significantly, Martin Hägglund.)
After the huge success of the previous year's Face to Face concerts Billy Joel and Elton John set out on the road again. They only reunited for twelve concerts visiting both the United States and Canada. They played from California down to Florida covering eight states including Toronto.
The concerts took on the same form as the previous year where John and Joel with their bands would perform a few songs together, then John would take to the stage with his band without Joel. Joel would then do his own set followed by a reunion on stage with John before leaving stage. They would return for a few songs for an encore.
Joel stated in 2012 that he would no longer tour with Elton because it restrains his setlists.

In the winter of 2001 Elton John set out on the road with Billy Joel again with their very popular Face to Face concert series. The tour started in Honolulu, Hawaii (somewhere Elton and Billy had not performed together before). This first leg of the tour came to close with a two date stint at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise on 17 and 18 February.
Elton and Billy then picked up the tour again on 9 April in Denver, Colorado and the 2001 performances came to a close with a two night stint at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 15 and 16 May.
Elton and Billy would perform the 'Face To Face' concerts again next time, the following year. Joel stated in 2012 that he would no longer tour with Elton because it restrains his setlists.

Leech with two daughters.
"Give give they cry."
Her name is, she is a liar.
I refuse to be hers.
A kiss from her is one of the grave.
Bullets by her mouthfull an enemy at the six.
