Football Club Nasaf (Uzbek: "Насаф" футбол клуби / "Nasaf" futbol klubi), or Nasaf Qarshi, is a professional football club based in Qarshi(nakhshab), Uzbekistan.
The club was founded in 1985 under name Geolog. Since 1997 club plays in highest level League in Uzbekistan. FC Nasaf is one of the leading clubs in Uzbekistan. Nasaf finished in its first season in 1997 Uzbek League 6th. In 2000 club finished third after Neftchi Farg'ona.
The club is often listed as a Top 350 club by IFFHS. It has represented Uzbekistan in continental tournaments where its highest achievement has been reaching semi-finals of Asian Club Championship prior to the launch of the new Asian Champions League.
In 2010, the club bought a number of players and changed its squad significantly as well as the head coach. Moreover, the main venue of the club was reconstructed upon the end of the 2008–2009 season. The head coach Viktor Kumykov was fired after team faced defeats against league main opponents Bunyodkor and Pakhtakor. On August 10, 2010, Anatoliy Demyanenko, once the player of the year in the former USSR and former manager of Dynamo Kyiv, was introduced as the new head coach during the first round break of the 2009–2010 season. Nasaf appoints Anatoliy Demyanenko as head coach.
Qarshi (Uzbek: Qarshi / Қарши; Persian: نخشب / Nakhshab; Russian: Karshi / Карши) is a city in southern Uzbekistan. It is the capital of Qashqadaryo Region and has a population of 197,600 (1999 census estimate). The population of Qarshi on April 24, 2014 is approximately 222,898. It is about 520 km south-southwest of Tashkent, and about 335 km north of Uzbekistan's border with Afghanistan. It is located at latitude 38° 51' 48N; longitude 65° 47' 52E at an altitude of 374 meters. The city is important in natural gas production, but Qarshi is also famous for its production of woven flat carpets.
Originally the Sogdian city of Nakhshab, and the Islamic Uzbek (Turkic) city of Nasaf, and the Mongol city of Qarshi (pronounced Kharsh), Qarshi was the second city of the Emirate of Bukhara. It is in the center of a fertile oasis that produces wheat, cotton, and silk and was a stop on the 11 day caravan route between Balkh and Bukhara. The Mongol Chagataid khans Kebek and Qazan built palaces here on the site of Chinggis Khaan's summer pasture. In 1364, Timur also built a fortified palace with moats in what is now the southern part of the city. The modern name "Qarshi" means fort.
FC Nasaf-2 Qarshi (Uzbek: Насаф-2 Карши) is a Uzbekistann association football club based in Qarshi. Nasaf-2 is the farm club of Nasaf Qarshi. Currently it plays in First League.
Nasaf-2 was formed with intention to feed and provide Nasaf Qarshi with young successful players. Club plays in First League, conference West and participate in Uzbek Cup.
On 20 July 2012, the current head coach of Nasaf-2, Shuhrat Toshpulatov was appointed as assistant coach of Nasaf Youth team and resigned his position at Nasaf-2. Club had appointed Rakhmatulla Muhammedrakhimov as new head coach.
