An eyeshield is a piece of football equipment. It is a visor that attaches to the helmet of a player to protect the eyes. It leaves the mouth exposed and covers the eyes and nose. Only clear eyeshields are allowed in high school football. On the college level, a tinted eyeshield may be used if the player has eye problems. The NFL requires a waiver by the trainer and a doctor to wear tinted or reflective visors.
Eyeshield 21 (Japanese: アイシールド21, Hepburn: Aishīrudo Nijūichi) is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The series tells the story of Sena Kobayakawa, an introverted boy who joins an American football club as a secretary, but after being coerced by Yoichi Hiruma, turns out to play wearing an eyeshield and the number 21, under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21". Inagaki chose American football as a central subject of Eyeshield 21 after realizing that it fit perfectly with his idea for the series.
The manga was originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2002 to June 2009. The series consists of 333 chapters collected in 37 tankōbon volumes. An anime adaptation consisting of 145 television episodes was co-produced by TV Tokyo, NAS, and Gallop. The television series first aired on Japan's TV Tokyo network from April 6, 2005 to March 19, 2008. The Eyeshield 21 franchise has spawned two original video animations (OVAs), audio albums, video games, and other merchandise.
Sena Kobayakawa (Japanese: 小早川 瀬那, Hepburn: Kobayakawa Sena), commonly referred to just as Sena (セナ), is a fictional character who is the protagonist in the manga and anime series Eyeshield 21, created by Riichiro Inagaki and Yusuke Murata. In the series, he is a first-year Japanese high-school student who becomes a gofer to avoid being bullied. His running ability improves and he is noticed by Yoichi Hiruma, the American football team's captain, who gets him to join the Deimon Devil Bats as the team's running back under the name "Eyeshield 21". Sena has appeared in other media from the series, including video games, original video animations (OVAs) and light novels.
When he created a protagonist to the series, Inagaki intended to create a "wimp" who is a good athlete, then he decided the series main theme, American football, and eventually created Sena. In the 2003 anime OVA which preceded the anime series, he is voiced by Romi Park; however, she was replaced by Miyu Irino in the 2005 Japanese anime television series. In the English adaptation, he is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal. Sena has been well received by manga and anime publications. Merchandise has been created for the character, including action figures, cosplay pieces and resin and ceramic statues.
I wanna be a princess,
The fairest all around,
And if you leave my kingdom,
You’re never really gone
You made me feel so special,
So beautiful and true,
I wish that I could thank you,
If you only knew
That I felt your love, I think I understand,
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
That your love is with me now
It’s funny how fast things can change,
Then you’re forced to pack your things,
And head into the great unknown,
And face this world all alone,
But no one waits for you back home
But I felt your love, I think I understand
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
That your love is with me now
And I miss you
I’m crying now too,
Help me make it on my own
‘Cause I felt your love, I think I understand
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
Your love is with me now
