"Remedy" is a song recorded by English singer and songwriter Adele for her third studio album 25 (2015). The song was written by Adele Adkins and Ryan Tedder, while production of the song was provided by the latter. Lyrically, the track is about the singer's best friend, her grandparents, her boyfriend, and her son. Musically, the song is a pop ballad. "Remedy" received positive reviews from critics, with some describing it as an earnest expression of devotion.

The song peaked at number 30 on the Finland Chart and number 30 on the Switzerland Chart. It also charted in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Scotland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Composition

"Remedy" was written by Adele and Ryan Tedder, and produced by the latter. It has been called a "turning point for 25 since it restored her confidence". After Tedder mentioned the word "remedy", which reminded Adele of her child, the song was written and recorded in one day.

Production

Produced by Jon Doscher, Christian Maelen and Nicholas Reiner filming took place during April and May 2003, in New Jersey and New York City. The film also features the acting debut of Ace Frehley of Kiss, who also contributes to the soundtrack.

Synopsis

The film is about a New York City artist who claims to have witnessed his best friend's murder. Due to a drug problem, he cannot recall what happened, and is the prime suspect. He desperately tries to remember before it is too late.

Remedy (rapper)

Remedy (born Ross Filler in 1972 in Staten Island, New York) is an emcee and hip-hop producer. He is known for being the first white rapper and the first Jewish rapper to be affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. He owns and runs Code Red Entertainment, his label which released Cappadonna's "The Struggle" album. He also served as executive producer on Inspectah Deck's album '"Manifesto". He has forged enduring ties with the clan, coming from Staten Island and having always lived and worked there. Remedy has produced and been featured on various works for ESPN over the past years. He recently released his return mixtape/street album entitled It All Comes Down to This. He is the Co-Executive producer of the "Wu-Tang Killa Bees: Return Of The Swarm" album. He is preparing to release a new full album after years of production and administrative work.

Biography

After emerging with the "Seen it All"/"Everything is Real" 12-inch single, Remedy appeared on the 1998 Wu-Tang Killa Bees: The Swarm compilation with his track "Never Again", a song about the Holocaust. This track remains his best-known work as well as his most highly regarded, and appeared on both his debut album, The Genuine Article, from 2001, and its follow-up, Code Red, from 2003 (Remedy considers the track to be effectively his signature theme song). The Genuine Article reached number 130 on the Billboard 200, number 30 on the R&B albums chart, and number 5 on the Top Independent Albums chart.Code Red included a track about the 9/11 attacks, as well as "A Muslim and a Jew", a song about the respective sides in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (with Wu-Tang leader The RZA acting as mediator). Remedy is a known advocate for the Jewish people.

Exodus (1960 film)

Exodus is a 1960 epic film on the creation of Israel made by Alpha and Carlyle Productions and distributed by United Artists. Produced and directed by Otto Preminger, the film was based on the 1958 novel Exodus by Leon Uris. The screenplay was written by Dalton Trumbo. The film features an ensemble cast, and its celebrated soundtrack music was written by Ernest Gold.

Widely characterized as a "Zionist epic", the film has been identified by many commentators as having been enormously influential in stimulating Zionism and support for Israel in the United States. The Preminger film softened the anti-British and anti-Arab sentiment of the novel, the film remains controversial for its depiction of the Arab-Israeli conflict, and for what some scholars perceive to be its lasting impact on American views of the regional turmoil. It would also become famous for Preminger openly hiring screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who had been blacklisted for a decade for being a Communist and forced to work under assumed names. Exodus: Gods and Kings

Exodus: Gods and Kings is a 2014 biblically based epic film directed by Ridley Scott. It was produced by Peter Chernin, Ridley Scott, Jenno Topping, Michael Schaefer and Mark Huffam with music by Alberto Iglesias and written by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, Jeffrey Caine and Steven Zaillian. The film stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Ben Mendelsohn, María Valverde, Sigourney Weaver, Ghassan Massoud, Golshifteh Farahani and Ben Kingsley. It is inspired by the biblical episode of the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt as led by Moses and related in the Book of Exodus. The film was released theatrically on December 12, 2014 by 20th Century Fox. Exodus: Gods and Kings received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and it earned $268 million on a $140 million budget.

Plot

In 1300 BC, Moses, a general and member of the royal family, prepares to attack the Hittite army with Prince Ramesses. A High Priestess of Sekhmet (the war goddess) divines a prophecy from animal intestines, which she relates to Ramesses' father, Seti I. He tells the two men of the prophecy, in which one (of Moses and Ramesses) will save the other and become a leader. During the attack on the Hittites, Moses saves Ramesses' life, leaving both men troubled. Later, Moses is sent to the city of Pithom to meet with the Viceroy Hegep, who oversees the Hebrew slaves. Upon his arrival, he encounters the slave Joshua, who is the descendant of Joseph, and Moses is appalled by the horrific conditions of the slaves. Shortly afterwards, Moses meets Nun, who informs him of his true lineage; he is the child of Hebrew parents who was sent by his sister Miriam to be raised by Pharaoh's daughter. Moses is stunned at the revelation and leaves angrily. However, two Hebrews also overhear Nun's story and report their discovery to Hegep.

Exodus (Exo album)

Exodus (stylized as EXODUS) is the second studio album by South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO, released on March 30, 2015 by S.M. Entertainment and distributed by KT Music. It is the band's first full-length release since XOXO (2013), and also the first release from the band after the lawsuits of Kris and Luhan, now promoting with only ten members. The lead single for the album, "Call Me Baby", was revealed two days prior to the album's release, and its music videos were released on March 31, 2015.

On June 3, the album was re-released as Love Me Right with four new songs, including the lead single of the same name. With both versions of the album, EXO had the largest sales volume in the shortest amount of time for any K-pop artist, selling more than one million copies in two months.

Background

Before the album's release, S.M. Entertainment held a press conference, in which all the members were present except Lay, who was in China focusing on his new upcoming film. Although he could not be there to attend the press conference, he later apologized through a video call, stating "I'm really sorry. I really wanted to see everybody. I miss the members, too. We will show a perfect image for this comeback. Please anticipate it."
