Exit (festival)

Exit (Literary Serbian: Егзит, Egzit) is an award-winning summer music festival which is held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. It was officially proclaimed as the 'Best Major European festival' at the EU Festival Awards, which were held in Groningen in January 2014, while it's sea edition Sea Dance festival won the "Best Mid-Sized European festival" Award in 2015. The EU Festival Award is considered as one of the most prestigious festival awards in the world.

The festival was founded in 2000 in the University park as a student movement, fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans. After the democratic changes happened in Serbia, Exit moved to the Petrovaradin fortress in 2001. Nonetheless, social responsibility is still key aspect of the festival activities.

Exit has won the 'Best Overseas Festival' award at the UK Festival Awards in 2007, 'Best Major Festival Award' in 2013 and was ranked one of the 10 best major festivals at European Festivals Awards 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 and one of the 10 Best Overseas Festival at UK Festival Awards 2013.

Exit, in economics, means opting out of future transactions.

Overview

A firm can secure its ability to exit, for instance, by only agreeing to contracts that contain a clause that allows for termination on terms it feels would be acceptable. In constitutional economics, it implies a right of secession. However, a citizen seeking simply to avoid paying income taxes can also exit by emigrating to a country with more favorable laws, assuming such a country exists and allows their immigration.

Exit (group)

Exit is the name of a Swedish and a German anti-Nazi organisation, as well as another Swedish organisation with broader goals. The German anti-Nazi organisation was modelled on the Swedish one. All three groups aim to provide support and rehabilitation for neo-Nazis wanting to leave that subculture, as well as support for parents and those whose work brings them into contact with (usually young) people involved in Nazism.

Particular problems that Exit is designed to address are the problems of suddenly losing the support structure offered by the Nazi subculture and the high risk of violence committed by Nazis against former members: in some cases the work of Exit is reminiscent of a witness protection program.

German group

The German organisation, Exit Deutschland, was co-founded by the former leader of Nazism in what was East Germany, Ingo Hasselbach, and former police detective Bernd Wagner. Since 2004, the organization has been one of three pillars of the Democratic Culture Centre.

CP Lacertae

CP Lacertae (Nova Lacertae 1936 or CP Lac) was a nova, which lit up in 1936 in the constellation Lacerta. It reached a brightness of 2.1 mag. The brightness of CP Lacertae decreased after the outbreak in 9 days by 3 mag.

It was discovered independently by several observers including Leslie Peltier in the USA and E. Loreta in Italy.

Nova 9: Return of Gir Draxon

Nova 9: Return of Gir Draxon is a futuristic shooter video game developed by Dynamix and released by Sierra On-Line in 1991 for the PC as the second sequel to the game Stellar 7.

Gameplay

The player assumes the role of a futuristic tank pilot. The enemies include anything from other tanks to mechanical birds.

Reception

The game got 4½ out of 5 stars in Dragon.Computer Gaming World praised the game's "breathtaking graphics", high difficulty, and intelligent opponents, only criticizing the lack of a save game option. The magazine concluded that "Nova 9 is an excellent offering for arcade fans everywhere ... a thoroughly professional effort".

Nova 96.9 (call sign: 2SYD) is a commercial radio station operating in Sydney, Australia.

The station is owned by NOVA Entertainment along with sister station, smoothfm 95.3

Audience

Nova is generally the FM station of choice for under 40's with a 8% share of the Sydney audience on average which is on par with rival KIIS FM. Kate, Tim & Marty is the highest rated Nova show receiving 13% of Sydney's Drive time audience. Smallzy's Surgery receives a good 10% share for the nighttime slot and Fitzy & Wippa receive a fair 8% of Sydney's Breakfast audience.

In November 2014, a 30-second ad on Nova in breakfast cost $535 and in drive cost $500 (with Nova holding a 6.7% and 8.6% share respectively in these slots at the time).

History

One of the driving forces behind the creation of Nova was the growing demographic of youth who were embracing the commercialised anti-pop movement fronted by such artists as Daft Punk and Spiderbait, but for whom Triple J, operated by the publicly funded Australian Broadcasting Corporation, had no commercial incentives to offer. Initially the music selection on Nova 96.9 was very similar to that of Triple J, and a number of the station presenters, most notably former breakfast hosts Merrick and Rosso, which were also former Triple J staff. However, while Triple J has retained its alternative style, Nova has drifted towards a more commercial format. Meanwhile, other stations have adopted Nova's more varied programming style, to the point where Nova is now hard to tell apart from other commercial FM stations.
