Ettore Messina (born 30 September 1959) is an Italian professional basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has won four Euroleague championships as a head coach. Messina is regarded as one of the best European basketball coaches, having been named in 2008 one of the 50 Greatest Euroleague Contributors.
He was named the Italian League's Best Coach three times, in the years 1998, 2001 and 2005. Furthermore, he has been named Euroleague Coach of the Year twice, in 2006 and 2008. He was inducted into the Italian Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
Messina had two different stints (1989–1993 and 1997–2002) at the Italian League team, Virtus Bologna. In 1989-1990 season he won the Italian Cup and the FIBA Cup Winners' Cup against Real Madrid in Florence final and the national championship in 1993. During his second stint at Virtus, he coached the team to Euroleague trophies in both the 1997–98 and 2000–01 seasons. He also added two Italian League championships to his trophy case in 1998 and 2001, as well as three Italian Cup titles in 1999, 2001 and 2002.
Messina (/məˈsiːnə/; Italian pronunciation: [mesˈsiːna], Sicilian: Missina; Latin: Messana, Greek: Μεσσήνη) is the capital of the Italian province of Messina. It is the 3rd largest city on the island of Sicily, and the 13th largest city in Italy, with a population of more than 252,000 inhabitants in the city proper and about 650,000 in the province. It is located near the northeast corner of Sicily, at the Strait of Messina, opposite Villa San Giovanni on the mainland, and has close ties with Reggio Calabria.

Messina is a 2012 triple album by French singer-songwriter Damien Saez. Each CD was named separately with CD 1 named "Les Échoués", CD 2 "Sur les quais" and CD 3 "Messine". The full set was titled Messina (with an a). the set was released on 17 September 2012. on Wagram Records.
The triple album was not the first by Saez as he had released in 2008 the triple album titled Varsovie - L'Alhambra - Paris. Messina is the name of a Sicilian city of particular significance for Saez. And similar to the Varsovie - L'Alhambra - Paris album, this triple album carries many geographical references and to personalities.
On 29 August 2012, two titles from the album "Betty" and "Les fils d'Artaud" were made available for free downloading. On 16 September 2012, a third track "Messine" was offered free online. Two tracks, "Marie" and "Petite Couturière" were included on album despite being much older recordings.
