Eric J

Eric J Dubowsky also known as Eric J, is a musician, songwriter and record producer. He got his start at Greene St. Recording in New York City, the legendary home of early hip-hop artists Run-DMC, and Public Enemy. It was here Eric assisted engineer/producer Rod Hui. That led to a job working with famed Atlantic Records producer Arif Mardin in 1998. Eric has worked with artists such as Weezer, Flight Facilities, Flume, Chet Faker, Meg Mac , St. Vincent, The Chemical Brothers, Freeform Five, Kimbra, Panama, Kylie Minogue, Yuka Honda, Joss Stone, The Rubens,Art vs. Science, , Marc Kinchen, Bluejuice, Faker, Carolina Liar, The Academy Is…, and actress Emmy Rossum.

Eric received the 2014 ARIA award for Best Engineer for his work mixing the Chet Faker album, Built on Glass

He was lead singer of NYC band Essex, which he formed with Jeff Buckley drummer, Matt Johnson.

He sang and played guitar and keyboards in The Relationship with Weezer guitarist Brian Bell and produced and recorded their debut album, The Relationship.

Eric J. Evans

Eric J. Evans FRSA FRHistS (born 1945) is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Lancaster.

Education

His first degree was from Oxford University (1966) and his PhD was from the University of Warwick (1970). His specialist research interests include: British political history since the eighteenth century; the history of social policy; how social change affects the political process; British national identities.

Career

His academic career began as a lecturer at Stirling University (1969–71). He has been at Lancaster University since 1971, being successively lecturer, senior lecturer and reader. He became Professor of Social History in 1985. He was an office-holder of the Social History Society from its inception in 1976 to 1998, serving as the Society's Chairman from 1991-98. He is now Honorary Vice-President.

Recent publications include The Shaping of Modern Britain, 1780-1914 (Pearson, 2011), Sir Robert Peel, Statesmanship Power and Party (2nd ed., 2006) and The Forging of the Modern State: Early Industrial Britain 1783-1870 (3rd ed., Longman, 2001). He is also interested in curriculum development and assessment. He has Chief Examiner and Chair of Examiners in History for each of the three major English GCSE and A-level Awarding Bodies. He was Chair of the Arts & Humanities Research Board's History Postgraduate Awards Panel from 2000 to 2005.
