Broadband remote access server

A broadband remote access server (BRAS, B-RAS or BBRAS) routes traffic to and from broadband remote access devices such as digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAM) on an Internet service provider's (ISP) network. BRAS can also be referred to as a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG).

The BRAS sits at the core of an ISP's network, and aggregates user sessions from the access network. It is at the BRAS that an ISP can inject policy management and IP Quality of Service (QoS).

The specific tasks include:

Aggregates the circuits from one or more link access devices such as DSLAMs

Provides layer 2 connectivity through either transparent bridging or PPP sessions over Ethernet or ATM sessions

Enforces quality of service (QoS) policies

Provides layer 3 connectivity and routes IP traffic through an Internet service provider’s backbone network to the Internet

A DSLAM collects data traffic from multiple subscribers into a centralized point so that it can be transported to a switch or router over a Frame Relay, ATM, or Ethernet connection.

Čika

Čika (Zadar, first half of 11th century - Zadar, after 1095; Latin: Chicca) was a Croatian benedictine nun, founder of the benedictine monastery of st. Mary in Zadar. She is also known for the illuminated prayer book known as Čika's book of hours, the oldest prayer book for personal use in Europe.

Life

She was the daughter of Dujam and Vekenega, niece of prior Madi, and the wife of Andrija.

She was the member of the noble patrician family Madi. After the death of her husband in 1066, she founded the monastery of St. Mary in Zadar with the help of her family. King Petar Krešimir IV referred to her as his sister when he placed the monastery under the royal protection, though such geneaology is debated.

She is the mother of Vekenega.

Tes (rapper)

Terrence Tessora, better known by his stage name Tes, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York.

In 2003, Tes released his debut album, X2. It was described by Exclaim! as "experimental New York hip-hop in the vein of Cannibal Ox, Aesop Rock and Company Flow."
