Enkidu (𒂗𒆠𒆕 EN.KI.DU3, "Enki's creation") is a central figure in the Ancient Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh. Enkidu was formed from clay and saliva by Aruru, the goddess of creation, to rid Gilgamesh of his arrogance. In the story he is a wild man, raised by animals and ignorant of human society until he is bedded by Shamhat. Thereafter a series of interactions with humans and human ways bring him closer to civilization, culminating in a wrestling match with Gilgamesh, king of Uruk. Enkidu embodies the wild or natural world, and, though equal to Gilgamesh in strength and bearing, he acts in some ways as an antithesis to the cultured, urban-bred warrior-king. Enkidu then becomes the king's constant companion and deeply beloved friend, accompanying him on adventures until he is stricken with illness and dies. The deep, tragic loss of Enkidu profoundly inspires in Gilgamesh a quest to escape death by obtaining godly immortality.
Older sources sometimes transliterate his name as Enkimdu, Eabani, or Enkita. Enkidu is a modern variant.
Don't wanna become what i hate the most
The perfect concept of the one
that hears and nods but never gets it
Changes become blesses when you
finally see destruction
in the eyes
So that's it for me
And now, evolve
Bonds have been cut
I'm leaving behind
all that chokes
what's been left untold to you
It's so much to give, so much to take
Interchanging actions that just won't hold
us true to ourselves
As taking action becomes dull
so has become the spark that could
lit an entire soul
Only time will tell if our story
will come to a new beginning
Hope is never gone cause
I've got it all in my heart
The strength to lift my head
