Frontline (band)

Frontline are a New Zealand hip hop music group formed in 2001.

History

The New Zealand hip hop group known as 'Frontline' is a two man hip hop team: Samoan-European MC David Dallas (also known as Con Psy) and producer and DJ Nick Maclaren DJ 41:30. Con Psy won the 2003 Auckland MC Battle For Supremacy and 41 has won the 2000 Auckland ITF Championships.

After meeting in 2001 in Auckland, the pair formed some tracks together & released a mixtape What You Expect?. During this time Maclaren produced tracks for the likes of the Deceptikonz, Mareko and more while Dallas completed a BSc in computing. Without any formal broadcasting or distribution, it sold over 1000 copies.

The duo hooked up with premier New Zealand DJ P Money (also known as Peter Wadams).He signed Frontline to his co-owned record label Dirty Records. He then offered Dallas' skills to Scribe's multi#1 single "Not Many-The Remix!" featured on Scribe's five times platinum album The Crusader.

In 2004, P-Money's second album Magic City saw three appearances by Dallas; "Get Up Slow", "Get Back" (also featuring Dirty Records labelmate PNC) & "321 Remix" (also featuring Skillz & PNC). He also appears on the Breakin Wreckwordz mixtapes Breakin Wreckwordz Vol 1. & Fuck Music, Sirvere's Major Flavours collective & Breakinwreck artist Louie Knuxx's album Wasted Youth. 41 produced PNC's mixtape Ohhhhh On The PNC Tip.

Frontline (U.S. TV series)

Frontline is a public affairs television program that produces and broadcasts in-depth documentaries about various subjects. Produced at WGBH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts and distributed through the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in the United States, the program has been critically acclaimed and received numerous awards. Some programs are made by independent filmmakers and broadcast as part of the Frontline series. Since the series debut, there have been more than 500 films broadcast. Although primarily seen through television, the program shows a large portion of their shows in interactive webcasts on their main website.

Background

The program debuted in 1983, with NBC anchorwoman Jessica Savitch as its host, but Savitch died later in the first season. NewsHour's Judy Woodruff took over as anchor in 1984, and hosted the program for five years. In 1990, the show did away with the anchor position, and left the narrator to introduce each report.

Since 1988, Frontline has also aired "The Choice"—a series of special editions aired during the lead-up to presidential elections, focusing on the two candidates in the running to become President of the United States. The most recent of these aired on October 9, 2012, and featured a dual biography tracing the lives and careers of incumbent President Barack Obama and his challenger, Mitt Romney. The previous installment aired on October 14, 2008, using the same dual-biography format for Obama and John McCain. The 2008 documentary, produced by Michael Kirk, generated favorable reviews from The New York Times, which stated that the program helped viewers "gain perspective" about the "idea-oriented campaign," and The Los Angeles Times, which labeled it "refreshingly clear" and "informative".

Frontline (season 2)

This is a list of the 13 episodes of series two of Frontline, which first aired in 1995. In series 2, Frontline (the fictional show-within-the-show) struggles with ratings, and the network's varying attempts to heighten the ratings. The series is shot in mockumentary style. All of the show's episodes were written and directed by Rob Sitch (Mike Moore), Jane Kennedy (Brooke Vandenberg), Santo Cilauro (Geoffrey Salter) – who also did most of the camera work – and Tom Gleisner.

Endless (Sakanaction song)

"Endless" (Japanese: エンドレス, Hepburn: Endoresu) is a song by Japanese band Sakanaction. It was the leading promotional track from the band's fifth studio album Documentaly, released on September 28, 2011. Created primarily by the band's vocalist Ichiro Yamaguchi over a period of eight months, the song was written as a record of what it was like to live in 2011. The song was the central composition of Documentaly, affecting the album's track order and composition.

The song received strong radio airplay in Japan around the album's release date in Japan, reaching number eight on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. Critics praised the song as "ambitious", noting the song's progression, fusion of electronic music and rock genres and "symbolic" lyrics.

Background and development

In August 2010, Sakanaction released the single "Identity", a song that had first been written early in the recording sessions for their fourth album Kikuuiki in 2009, and recorded just after the band finished recording music for the album. On October 8, 2010, the band performed their first concert at the Nippon Budokan, Sakanaquarium 21.1 (B). The concert experience inspired the band to write "Rookie", which the band began pre-production demo recordings for in January 2011. After finishing work on "Rookie", Yamaguchi began writing and recording "Endless". Originally the band planned to release "Endless" as the second single after "Identity" from their album Documentaly, however Yamaguchi was not fully satisfied with the song and continued to work on it; releasing "Rookie" in its place in March 2011. Just prior to "Rookie"'s planned physical release on March 16, 2011, Japan experienced the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. Sakanaction cancelled or rescheduled many of their scheduled radio appearances, and during their appearances preferred to focus on messages of hope for the victims of the earthquake, rather than directly promoting the single.

Endless (EP)

Endless is the second EP by American metalcore band Unearth. Released in September 2002.

Overview

Endless is also their last original release under Eulogy Recordings after moving to Metal Blade Records for their new releases, and is the last record with drummer Mike Rudberg and bassist Chris Rybicki. Buz McGrath and John Maggard played bass on 3 of the EP's tracks, as Chris Rybicki left the band before its completion.

The first 3 songs on this EP were recorded by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. The EP was re-released as a vinyl (7") by Confined Records and only contains the tracks "Endless" and "My Desire". The entire EP also appears on their 2005 compilation album Our Days of Eulogy.

The song "Endless" features a tribute the band's first record label, Endless Fight Records, during a breakdown when the phrase "endless fight" is repeatedly screamed by vocalist Trevor Phipps. The song's lyrics also contain the phrase "winds of plague," which inspired the name of a subsequent band called Winds of Plague.

Endless (Inna song)

"Endless" is a song by Romanian recording artist Inna. It was released in November 2011 as the fourth single from her second studio album, I Am the Club Rocker. The song was written and produced by Inna's long time producers and managers Play & Win.

Background

"Endless" was written, produced and arranged by Sebastian Barac, Marcel Botezan, Radu Bolfea, Inna's long-time producers who identify themselves as Play & Win. The track was recorded at the Play & Win Studios in Bucharest, Romania and musically arranged in Constanţa (Inna's hometown). It is a love song which features downbeat features (the first time Inna releases such a song). It combines elements of euro-NRG, Europop and Eurodance. Inna uploaded the track on YouTube two weeks prior the album's release date, on 5 September 2011. There, it has gathered over 300,000 views as of October 2011. On 23 September 2011 Inna asked her fans on Facebook which track should be promoted as her fourth single off I Am the Club Rocker. Since the first hours, "Endless" acted like the fans' favorite song. As of October 2011, more than 4,000 out of 6000 fans elected "Endless" as the hit-to-be single. On 22 November 2011 it was announced that "Endless" is the fourth single from I Am the Club Rocker. The single version differs from the album version and features additional beats and lyrically a changed first verse.
