Amp Energy

Amp Energy (or simply Amp) is an energy drink brand produced and owned by PepsiCo. At the time of its introduction in 2001, Amp Energy was initially distributed under the Mountain Dew soft drink brand. Since 2009, it has been produced and labeled under its own stand-alone trademark name. The beverage is packaged in both 16-ounce and 24-ounce cans, and is sold in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. As of 2009, Amp Energy was the number four energy drink brand in the U.S. in terms of overall retail sales.

Flavors

The original formulation of Amp Energy was positioned as a flavor extension of the Mountain Dew brand, and in 2001 its label read "Amp Energy Drink from Mountain Dew". In 2008 the label design was changed to contract the product name to a more concise "Amp Energy", with the Mountain Dew logo being shifted to the lower portion of the cans. In Amp's 2011 redesign, the Mountain Dew logo was taken off the cans completely. According to beverage industry commentators at the time, this labeling update was enacted with the intent of "placing a stronger emphasis on the 'Amp Energy' brand and less on its Mountain Dew roots". Amp Energy Original contains taurine, B-vitamins, guarana, ginseng and maltodextrin. 8.4 fluid ounces of Amp contains 74 milligrams of caffeine.

Aardwolf (Chon Li) is a mutant in the Marvel Universe.

The character, created by Fabian Nicieza, Ken Lashley and Fred Hayes, first appeared in Night Thrasher #3 (October 1993).

Within the context of the stories, Aardwolf establishes himself as a crime lord on the island of Madripoor. He tricked Night Thrasher into helping him defend his empire by defeating Midnight's Fire.

Abominable Snowman

The Abominable Snowman (Carl Hanson) is a character in the Marvel Universe.

The character, created by Jack Kirby and an uncredited writer, first appeared in Tales to Astonish #13 (November 1960).

Within the context of the stories, Carl Hanson is an adventurer who steals a photograph of the Abominable Snowman and attempts to track the creature down. Not accepting advice from others that the photo is cursed, he slowly transforms into the creature during his search.

Adenosine monophosphate

Adenosine monophosphate (AMP), also known as 5'-adenylic acid, is a nucleotide that is used as a monomer in RNA. It is an ester of phosphoric acid and the nucleoside adenosine. AMP consists of a phosphate group, the sugar ribose, and the nucleobase adenine. As a substituent it takes the form of the prefix adenylyl-.

cAMP

AMP can also exist as a cyclic structure known as cyclic AMP (or cAMP). Within certain cells the enzyme adenylate cyclase makes cAMP from ATP, and typically this reaction is regulated by hormones such as adrenaline or glucagon. cAMP plays an important role in intracellular signaling.

Stargate SG-1 (season 8)

Season eight of Stargate SG-1, an American-Canadian military science fiction television series, began airing on July 9, 2004 on the Sci Fi channel. The eighth season concluded on February 22, 2005, after 20 episodes on British Sky One, which overtook the Sci Fi Channel in mid-season. This was the first season of the show to have 20 episodes instead of 22, as well as the first to air concurrently with Stargate SG-1 spinoff series Stargate Atlantis (the first season thereof). The series was originally developed by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner, while Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper served as executive producers. Season eight regular cast members include Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, and Michael Shanks. The eighth season begins with the SG-1 team trying to revive Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) after the events of the seventh season. At the end of the two-episode season opener, Colonel O'Neill is promoted to General and assumes command of Stargate Command (SGC), while Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assumes command of SG-1. The season arc centers on the growing threat and seemingly final defeat of the Goa'uld and the Replicators, races who were introduced in the first and third season of the show, respectively.

Endgame (Star Trek: Voyager)

"Endgame" is the title of the series finale of the American science fiction television series, Star Trek: Voyager, episodes 25 and 26 of the seventh season and 171 and 172 in the overall series. Originally shown May 23, 2001 on the UPN network as a double-length episode and later presented as such in DVD collections, it is shown in syndicated broadcasts as a two-part story.

Plot

In the year 2404, the Federation is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Voyager's return to Earth from 23 years in the Delta Quadrant. However, an elderly Admiral Kathryn Janeway acquires a chrono deflector from a Klingon named Korath and uses it on her shuttle to travel back to 2378 in the Delta Quadrant. She pulls rank on her younger self, ordering Voyager to emit an anti-tachyon pulse which collapses the temporal distortion and prevents the Klingons from following her through.

On board her old starship, the Admiral tells her younger self to return to a nebula filled with Borg which they passed by a few days ago. She provides advanced technologies which would give Voyager the opportunity to get past the massive Borg defenses and enter a transwarp corridor. The Borg, despite spying on the ship and preparing for its attack, are unable to penetrate Voyager's new adaptive hull armor nor capture it with tractor beams while Voyager destroys two Borg cubes with transphasic torpedoes. They then come upon a Borg transwarp hub at the center, which could save the ship sixteen more years of being stranded in the Delta Quadrant.
