Encompass

Encompass, the Enterprise Computing Association, was the original computer user group for business customers of Hewlett-Packard. Encompass's history begins with DECUS, founded in 1961, for customers of the Digital Equipment Corporation, which was acquired in 1998 by Compaq. The U.S. Chapter incorporated as the user group Encompass U.S.

Hewlett-Packard acquired Compaq in 2002. Encompass continued as an HP user group, aimed at business customers of all of HP's hardware, software, and services.

The Encompass mission was to promote technical information exchange among its members and between the members and Hewlett-Packard.

The Connect User Group Community, formed from the consolidation in May 2008 of Encompass, Interex EMEA, and ITUG is Hewlett-Packard's largest user community representing more than 50,000 participants. See Connect (users group) for more information.

The Encompass Board at the time of the consolidation consisted of Nina Buik, Kristi Browder, Glen Kuykendall, Anthony Ioele, Steve Davidek, Dena Wright, John Maynen, Clyde Poole, and Bill Johnson. Two former directors were credited with being instrumental in facilitating the consolidation, Chris Koppe and Jim Becker.

Yahoo is a computer software and web search engine company founded on March 1, 1995. The company is a public corporation and its headquarters is located in Sunnyvale, California. It was founded by Stanford University graduate students Jerry Yang and David Filo in 1994. According to web traffic analysis companies, Yahoo has been one of the most visited websites on the Internet, with more than 130 million unique users per month in the United States alone. As of October 2007, the global network of Yahoo receives 3.4 billion page views per day on average, making it one of the most visited US websites.

Yahoo's first acquisition was the purchase of Net Controls, a web search engine company, in September 1997 for US$1.4 million. As of April 2008, the company's largest acquisition is the purchase of Broadcast.com, an Internet radio company, for $5.7 billion, making Broadcast.com co-founder Mark Cuban a billionaire. Most of the companies acquired by Yahoo are based in the United States; 78 of the companies are from the United States, and 15 are based in a foreign country. As of July 2015, Yahoo has acquired 114 companies, with Polyvore being the latest.

Ellie Mae

Ellie Mae, Inc. is a software company that processes almost a quarter of U.S. mortgage applications. The services are based on a software as a service model (SaaS) that streamlines and automates the process of originating and funding new mortgage loans and facilitating regulatory compliance. The company was founded in 1997 by Limin Hu and Sigmund Andermanand is headquartered in Pleasanton, California.

Operations

In January 2014, Ellie Mae finally completed the acquisition of MortgageCEO(focusing on CRM). Also in January 2014, Ellie Mae completed the acquisition of ARG Interactive, LLC. In 2008 Ellie Mae acquired the assets of Online Document Systems Inc. from Stewart Lender Services Inc. Since 2008 it has acquired Mavent Inc. (2009), Del Mar DataTrac (2011), Mortgage Pricing Systems (2011), MortgageCEO (2013), and AllRegs, an Eagan, Minnesota-based information provider for the mortgage industry (2014).

In September 2013, Ellie Mae introduced the updated mortgage-management system Encompass360 to help underwriters comply with the latest federal mortgage rules in 2014. This system features debt-to-income calculators, discount assessment, evaluating the loans quality.
