Averi

Averi is a rock band that formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998 while the members were students at local colleges and universities. The band grew in local popularity rather quickly, and even had a strong national following. It was no mystery that the band was one of few bands in Boston, at the time, that garnered a lot of label attention. However, due to member changes and other events, the band has been inactive since early 2007. The band was composed of Mike Golarz (vocals and guitar), Michael Currier (saxophone and vocals), Stuart Berk (lead guitar), Chris Tilden (bass), and Matt Lydon (drums). Chad Perrone was the former lead singer. He left the band in late 2005.

History

Averi was founded in 1998 on the campus of Suffolk University in Boston, MA by Matt Lydon and Michael Currier. After inviting Chad Perrone into the group, Averi was born. At Wits End was the band's debut EP. Featuring five funk and sax heavy tunes, At Wits End became very popular within the local scene and helped the band gain support from producer Mike Denneen for their debut LP, Direction of Motion. With the addition of Chris Tilden and Stuart Berk, Direction of Motion had a distinctive pop sound. The album sold thousands of copies without any label representation. The band went out on the road in support of the album playing colleges up and down the east coast of the US and numerous clubs around Boston.

Pages (word processor)

Pages is a word processor developed by Apple Inc. It is part of the iWork productivity suite and runs on the OS X and iOS operating systems. The first version of Pages was announced on January 11, 2005, and was released one month later. The most recent Macintosh version, Pages 5, was released on October 22, 2013. The previous version, version 4, was released on January 6, 2009, as a component of iWork '09. On January 27, 2010, Apple announced a new version of Pages for iPad with a touch interface. On May 31, 2011 Apple updated the iOS version of Pages to 1.4, bringing universal binaries allowing the app to be run on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices. On October 12, 2011, Apple updated the iOS app to version 1.5, adding the iCloud "Documents in the Cloud" feature. iOS Pages was updated to version 1.6 on March 7, 2012 and will run on iOS 5.1 or later only. Pages for OS X was updated to version 4.3 on December 4, 2012, to support Pages 1.7 for iOS which was released on the same day. Pages for iOS 1.7.1 introduced better compatibility with Word and Pages for Mac, and v1.7.2 merely adding stability improvements and bugfixes was released on March 7, 2013. On October 23, 2013, Apple released a redesign with Pages 5.0, and made it free for anyone with an iOS device.

Pages (Bering Strait album)

Pages is the second studio album from the country music band Bering Strait. It was released June 28, 2005 via Universal South Records (now Show Dog-Universal Music). The album was produced by Carl Jackson, except for "From Ankara to Izmir", which was produced by Jerry Douglas.

Empty (magazine)

Empty is a cult, Australian "creative" magazine, concerned largely with printed design work, photography, illustration and film, created for the professional creative community.

The magazine is published by Sydney-based Design is Kinky studio, curators of the Semi-Permanent design festival, a fixture in design culture's global landscape, which occurs annually in Australia.

The magazine acts largely as a gallery of artwork, both domestic and international. It also features cultural commentary and interviews with artists, animators, other magazines, and so on. Notable interviewees have included Mark Andrews, head of story on The Incredibles (cover story, issue 2, late-2004) and Dan Houser of Rockstar Games (issue 3, early-2005).

Empty was launched in April 2004 and is published somewhat arbitrarily, but usually occurs on a bi-monthly basis.

The magazine features little to no advertising whatsoever.

Metric (band)

Metric are a Canadian rock band founded in 1998 in Toronto. The band consists of Emily Haines (lead vocals, synthesizers, guitar, tambourine, harmonica, piano), James Shaw (guitar, synthesizers, theremin, backing vocals), Joshua Winstead (bass, synthesizers, backing vocals) and Joules Scott-Key (drums, percussion). The band started in 1998 as a duo formed by Haines and Shaw with the name "Mainstream". After releasing an EP titled Mainstream EP, they changed the band's name to Metric, after a sound that was programmed by Shaw on his keyboard. In 2001, Winstead and Scott-Key joined them.

Their first official studio album, Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?, was released on September 2, 2003. It was followed by Live It Out, released on October 4, 2005. The album was nominated for the 2006 Polaris Music Prize for the "Canadian Album of the Year" and for the 2006 Juno Awards for "Best Alternative Album". Their third studio album, Grow Up and Blow Away, was recorded in 2001 and it was initially planned as their debut album. The album was delayed for many years and it was finally released on June 26, 2007, with some changes to the track list. Some songs were also slightly reworked.

Empty (TV series)

Empty is a six-episode BBC Two sitcom first broadcast on 28 February 2008. It stars Gregor Fisher and Billy Boyd as Jacky Allen and Tony MacBryan respectively, two men who work for a property maintenance company 'Greater Glasgow Building Services'.

Situation and plot

Each episode mostly revolves around the dialogue of the two main characters as they discuss their lives (and unseen wives) and the things they find in the houses they clear. Jacky and Tony are also given to re-enacting silent comedy and music hall routines, and always take a polaroid photo of themselves which they date and hide in a crevice somewhere. The pair also like to guess what they will find behind each door before they open it. As befits their personalities, Jacky's guesses are usually amusing and fanciful, while Tony's are often gruesome, even macabre.

Although the main duo interact with various other characters over the course of the series, the only supporting character to appear in more than one episode is Barry, a plumber who dresses like Super Mario and is nicknamed "Super Barrio" by Jacky and Tony (though he has never heard of the character and doesn't understand the joke). Barry is played by Tom Urie.
