Spark (horse)

Spark was part of the first pair English-bred Thoroughbred horses imported to the Province of Maryland in 1747 by Provincial Governor of Maryland, Samuel Ogle. Spark was given to Ogle by Lord Baltimore during Ogle's trip to England in 1740. Spark had previously been given to Lord Baltimore by Frederick, Prince of Wales.

The importation Queen Mab and Spark established the Belair Stud legacy.

The Avatar and his companions

The Avatar

The Avatar is the main character in the series. The Avatar is first known as the Stranger from another world, who defeats Mondain, Minax, and their spawn, Exodus. The Stranger becomes the Avatar once his goal changes to following the path of the Virtues, and retrieving the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom from the Great Stygian Abyss. This is noted as one of the first uses of "Avatar" in the virtual context. In the fifth episode, the Avatar defeats a repressive regime over Britannia, and in the sixth he brings peace between men and gargoyles. In the first part of the seventh episode, the Avatar infiltrates the Fellowship in order to stop the Guardian from entering Britannia; in the second part, the Avatar prevents imbalance from destroying the universe and receives the title of the Hierophant of Balance. In the eighth episode, the Avatar escapes the world of Pagan by defeating the four Titans, becoming the Titan of Ether. In the ninth and final episode, the Avatar defeats the Guardian by destroying both himself and the Guardian with the Armageddon spell. The Avatar is also the main character in both Ultima Underworld games.

Spyro (series)

Spyro is a series of platform games which primarily features the protagonist Spyro the Dragon and his friend, Sparx the Dragonfly. Since its introduction in 1998, there has been a complete reboot to the series called The Legend of Spyro trilogy, making it a total of ten Spyro games and three Legend of Spyro games. The Spyro series has sold more than 20 million units worldwide. After The Legend of Spyro series concluded, a spin-off franchise under the name of Skylanders was made where Spyro and other related characters were included in.

Spyro the Dragon

Spyro the Dragon was first released in North America on 11 September 1998, for the PlayStation. It was released in Europe on 23 October 1998, In Australia on 15 November 1998 and in Japan on 1 April 1999. It is a platform game that placed the player as Spyro, a small, purple dragon set with the task of freeing his fellow dragons from crystal prisons, which are scattered around their world. Each level is accessed through 'portals' from a main world. The game concludes with a fight between Spyro and the primary antagonist, Gnasty Gnorc. The game sold well, most critics giving it favorable reviews. It also received acclaim for its musical score by Stewart Copeland.

Bastards of Evil

The Bastards of Evil are a fictional comic book team of supervillains appearing in books published by Marvel Comics universe. They debuted in the 2010 "Heroic Age" storyline, in the series Young Allies. Their name is a play that they are the bastard children of evil supervillains.

Publication history

The Bastards of Evil first appeared in Young Allies Vol. 2 #1 and were created by Sean McKeever and David Baldeon.

Comarca Emberá-Wounaan

Emberá is a comarca indígena (indigenous territory) in eastern Panama. It was created by Law Number 22 on November 8, 1983, within the territories of Chepigana and Pinogana districts, Darién Province. The capital is Unión Chocó. The 2010 census found 9,544 people living within Emberá. The area of this comarca is 4,383.6 sq. kilometers.
