Elliot Minor were a rock band from York, England. The group consists of Alex Davies (lead vocals/guitars), Ed Minton (vocals/guitars), Dan Hetherton (drums/backing vocals) and Ed Hetherton (bass).
Elliot Minor started 'The Academy' with Alex Davies, Ed Minton and another of their mates who met at school when they were thirteen. Davies bumped into childhood friend Dan Hetherton when they were both picking up younger brothers and invited him to a band practice. Dan Hetherton joined as the band's drummer, and later they recruited Dan's brother, Ed, to play bass. Davies kept in contact with another childhood friend, Ali Paul, who joined as their keyboardist.
In 2006, Elliot Minor won a MySpace competition to support McFly for one show on their Greatest Hits tour with an audience of over 13,000 at Manchester. They signed to Repossession Records, an independent label run by their manager, Gary Ashley. Their first single, "Parallel Worlds", reached #31 on the UK Official Charts; subsequent singles, "Jessica", "The White One Is Evil", and "Still Figuring Out", all reached the top 30. "Parallel Worlds" was reissued, followed by "Time After Time". In 2007 they headlined a new music festival in the south called Butserfest.
Elliot Minor is the debut album from the English pop rock band Elliot Minor. The album was released on 14 April 2008.
The band has released 4 singles before this album's release, "Parallel Worlds", "Jessica", "The White One Is Evil" and "Still Figuring Out", with "Parallel Worlds" being re-released a week before the album, on 7 April.
The album release date had been pushed back many times throughout the course of 2007, however lead singer/guitarist Alex Davies confirmed on a BBC Radio 1 interview that the album would be released on 21 April 2008. This has since been revised, and the album was released on 14 April.
Several promotion copies were leaked onto eBay, however were swiftly removed. Demos for all of the tracks have been available for sometime on various torrent websites, and several have also been available on the band's MySpace. The track listing has been confirmed by a number of sources since the promotion copy leaked onto eBay. Elliot Minor's official online store offered the first 500 albums signed by the band.
Now we have closure
Our last night is over
Now we're going home
Now we're going home
I'm feeling so fine
When was the last time
When we were at home
Now we're going home
Wait, wait, I'm ready can't you see
If this was up to me
Let's take the car and be gone
Before the day burns into night
We're coming home
The last place where you feel that you're alone
See the sun
It's the only thing that hasn't changed since we've been gone
We were broken
Time travel's open
Now we're coming home
Now we're coming home
Our last glimpse of sunlight
I hope we timed this just right
Let's watch the shadows fall
Let's watch the shadows fall
And over and over
we start to remember
Now we're going home
Now we're coming home
And pain, pain marry me
It's plain as misery
Let's take the car and be gone
Before the day burns into night
We're coming home
The last place where you feel that you're alone
See the sun
It's the only thing that hasn't changed since we've been gone
We were broken
Time travel's open
Now we're coming home
Now we're coming home
We're coming home
The last place where you feel that you're alone
See the sun
It's the only thing that hasn't changed since we've been gone
And if we fall
Will you be there
Will you be there if we fall
You're the one
You're the only one that hasn't changed since we've been gone
See the sun
It's the only thing that hasn't changed since we've been gone
We were broken
Time travel's open
Now we're coming home
Now we're coming home
(See the sun)
(See the sun)
(See the Sun)
(It's the only thing)
(It's the only thing)
