Ekk Nayi Pehchaan

Ekk Nayi Pehchaan is an Indian television drama series which premiered on Sony TV on 23 December 2013. The series marks the debut of Bollywood actresses Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure to television, along with Krystle D'Souza and Karan Sharma. The story takes on women's empowerment and education through relationships. The show went off air on 25 September 2014.

Plot summary

Ek Nayi Pehchaan focuses on a relationship between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law. The story begins with a well reputed family: Suresh Modi, the owner of Sharda Textiles, his wife Sharda, his sons Karan and Chirag and married daughter Latika. Sharda meets Sakshi on a train journey. Aditya, the man whom she planned to elope with ditches Sakshi. Sharda consoles a heart-broken Sakshi and suggests that she return home. Back at Modi's mansion, celebrations are going on in full swing as Suresh decides to get Karan married to his business partner's daughter. Sharda is surprised when she learns that Sakshi is going to be her daughter-in-law. On the other hand, Sakshi is glad to meet Sharda once again and agrees to get married to Karan. But, Karan is unwilling to get married to Sakshi. But, after giving it much thought, he eventually gets married to Sakshi.

Pechchaan is a 1993 Indian Bollywood film directed by Deepak Shivdasani and produced by A.K. Abdul. It stars Sunil Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Shilpa Shirodkar and Madhoo in pivotal roles.

Plot

Judge Jagdish Verma (Raza Murad) has an accused by the name of Yogi Shankar (Kiran Kumar) in his courtroom. Judge Verma was once Yogi's defence lawyer, but now must pass a sentence against him. Yogi pleads his innocence, but the Judge finds him guilty, and Yogi is sentenced to a long term (7 years) in jail. Yogi swears to avenge this injustice and humiliation. Judge Verma's family consists of Urmila (Beena Banerjee), two sons, Kunal and Karan (Sunil Shetty and Saif Ali Khan respectively), and a daughter Tina (Madhoo). Yogi serves out his term and is released from jail, seeking revenge against Juge Verma and his family. He abducts young Tina and plans to use her to control the judge and his judgments. The family is instructed not to contact the police, for the safety of Tina, and to keep this abduction a secret. Tina grows up in the company of Yogi and his men, without knowing her biological family. Tina is then used to ensnare the family into more deceit and entrapment under the direction of Yogi, leaving the Verma family no choice but to go along with Yogi's plan.

Pehchaan is a drama series airs on DD National channel on every Monday - Friday at 2:30pm IST. The series is produced Baanyan Tree Media & Entertainment' and have received good Television Point Ratings after few weeks of its launch.
