Edison (NJT station)

Edison is a New Jersey Transit station 30.3 miles southwest of New York on the Northeast Corridor Line, in Edison, New Jersey. Known as Stelton station until circa 1955, it is at the corner of Central and Plainfield Avenues (County Route 529) in the Stelton area of Edison Township, and accessible by car via Reed Street (off Central Avenue). A small privately run convenience store operates in the waiting room of the north/New York City-bound platform. Passengers use a ticket machine as there is no station agent or station office. Elevators and ramps make both the north- and south-bound platforms wheelchair accessible. With the growing population of Edison, ridership has increased over the last 10–15 years, resulting in a shortage of parking spaces on weekdays and heavy traffic during rush hours.

In early 2005 plans were announced to expand the station, notably with the addition of 800 parking spaces. A new parking lot with 477 spaces opened on January 1, 2010.

Edison (crater)

Edison is a lunar crater on the far side of the Moon. It is located just behind the north-northeastern limb of the Moon, a region that is sometimes brought into sight from Earth during favorable librations. However even at such times not much detail can be discerned, and the crater is better observed by orbiting spacecraft.

The Edison crater is attached to the southeastern outer rim of the crater Lomonosov, to the east of the walled plain Joliot. The satellite crater Edison T is attached to the western rim of Edison and the eastern rim of Joliot. To the south of Edison is the crater Dziewulski, and due east is Artamonov.

The outer rim of this crater is somewhat eroded, with two small craters along the southern edge, and the outer rampart of Lomonosov intruding slightly into the interior floor. The most intact section of rim is along the eastern side. The interior floor is relatively level, particularly in the southern half, and there is a small craterlet near the western inner wall. The floor displays dark patches and streaks of higher albedo surface where the ray system from Giordano Bruno to the north-northwest. However it is not as dark in hue as the floor of Lomonosov.

Scanner (band)

Scanner is a German power metal band that was formed in 1986. Three of the band members had previously taken part in an album release by the band Lions Breed, Damn The Night (Earthshaker 1985). The band changed its name to Scanner, adopting a science fiction image for their lyrics, album covers and live performances. They released their first album, Hypertrace, in 1988 through Noise Records. They have reformed twice, releasing their latest album on January 23rd, 2015, The Judgement (Massacre Records).

Salvo

Salvo is the G.I. Joe Team's Anti-Armor Trooper. His real name is David K. Hasle, and he was born in Arlington, Virginia. Salvo was first released as an action figure in 1990, and again in 2005. Both versions have the T-shirt slogan 'The Right of Might'.

Salvo's primary military specialty is anti-armor trooper. He also specializes in repairing "TOW/Dragon" missiles. Salvo expresses a deep distrust of advanced electronic weaponry. He prefers to use mass quantities of conventional explosives to overwhelm enemy forces.

In the Marvel Comics G.I. Joe series, he first appeared in issue #114. There, he fights as part of a large scale operation against Cobra forces in the fictional country of Benzheen. Steeler, Dusty, Salvo, Rock'N'Roll and Hot Seat get into vehicular based combat against the missile expert Metal-Head He is later part of the Joe team on-site who defends G.I. Joe headquarters in Utah against a Cobra assault.

Robin Rimbaud

Robin Rimbaud (born 1964) is an electronic musician who works under the name Scanner due to his use of cell phone and police scanners in live performance. He is also a member of the band Githead with Wire's Colin Newman and Malka Spigel and Max Franken from Minimal Compact.

Rimbaud is also a writer and media critic, multi-media artist and record producer. He borrowed his stage name from the device he used in his early recordings, picking up indeterminate radio and mobile phone signals in the airwaves and using them as an instrument in his compositions.

Biography

Born in Southfields, London, Scanner was interested in avant garde literature, cinema and music while growing up. When he was a teenager his family was bereaved when his father was killed in a motorcycle accident. He attended Kingston University in Surrey, earning a degree in Modern Arts (BA). There, he formed a musical project The Rimbaud Brothers with fellow student Tony Rimbaud, releasing cassette editions in the early 1980s, later becoming Dau Al Set with the addition of Chris Staley.
