Eddie Burke

Edmund Cornelius George Burke (June 2, 1905 – October 7, 1993) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played 106 games in the National Hockey League. He was born in Toronto, Ontario and played for the Boston Bruins and New York Americans. Burke also coached the Boston Tigers of the Canadian-American Hockey League (CAHL). After his career in hockey, he disappeared and his whereabouts remain unknown, although some sources indicate that he died in 1969.

Edward D. Burke (October 6, 1866 in Northumberland, Pennsylvania – November 26, 1907 in Utica, New York), was a Major League Baseball outfielder. He played all or part of eight seasons, from 1890 until 1897. During that time, he played for five teams: the Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburg Alleghenys, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, and New York Giants.

In 1890, Burke was traded in midseason along with pitcher Bill Day for Billy Sunday. This is the only recorded time the famed evangelist was traded during his baseball career.

Edward J. Burke

Edward J. Burke (born May 19, 1876) was an American machinist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who was a justice of the peace, and spent a single term as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. He went to law school in the evening in Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee.

He was elected in 1912 to the newly redistricted 16th Milwaukee County Assembly district (the 16th Ward of the City of Milwaukee, the Town of Wauwatosa and the City of Wauwatosa). He was defeated for re-election in 1914 by Republican William A. Schroeder.
