Edan Welch (born on March 29, 1978 in Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada) was a minor-league professional ice hockey player.
He went to college at St. Thomas University (New Brunswick) where he played collegiate ice hockey.
After graduating from St. Thomas University (New Brunswick), Edan leaped right into the pro game.
He played three seasons with the now-defunct Macon Trax of the ACHL/WHA2/SPHL. When the Trax folded, Welch signed a contract with the expansion Pee Dee Cyclones of the SPHL. He was the team's leading goalscorer in the 2005 to 2006 season. Welch has signed with the Fayetteville FireAntz for the 2007-08 season. Edan played for the Huntsville Havoc for part of the 2008-09 season. Then he was traded to Twin City Cyclones.

Edan Portnoy, better known mononymously as Edan, is an American alternative hip hop artist from Rockville, Maryland. He is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music.
Edan released the first album, Primitive Plus, on Lewis Recordings in 2002. It was described by The A.V. Club as "one of the year's most promising debuts". He released the EP, Sprain Your Tapedeck, later that year.
His second album, Beauty and the Beat, was released in 2005. It features vocal contributions from Mr. Lif and Insight.
Edan released the 29-minute mixtape, Echo Party, in 2009.
