Bijou is a live album by jazz saxophonist Archie Shepp recorded in Paris, France in 1975 and released on the French Musica Records label.
Davidson Renato da Cruz Coronel (born 14 April 1986), known as Bijou, is a Cape Verdean professional footballer who plays for Portuguese club Varzim S.C. as a central midfielder.
Bijou was born in Praia. After being spotted at local Sporting Clube da Praia by scouts from S.L. Benfica he moved to Portugal, playing his first year as a senior with the reserve side in the third division.
Benfica B folded after that season and Bijou was loaned, alongside teammate Nicolás Canales, to Gondomar S.C. in the second level, where he only played one league game. Released by the Eagles in the 2007 summer he met the same fate at his next club, C.D. Fátima in the same division, having to resume his career in the lower leagues of the country.
A bijou is a mixed alcoholic drink composed of gin, vermouth, and chartreuse. Bijou means "jewel" in French. It is said to have been invented by Harry Johnson. This cocktail is called Bijou because it combines the colors of three jewels: gin for diamond, vermouth for ruby, and chartreuse for emerald. An original-style Bijou is made stirred with ice as Harry Johnson's 1900 "New and Improved Bartender Manual" states "mix well with a spoon and serve." This recipe is also one of the oldest in the manual dating back to 1890s.
Pour everything into an ice-filled mixing glass. Stir gently for a few seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist. Serve chilled.
