FC Dynamo Kyiv

Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (Ukrainian: Футбольний Клуб Динамо Київ [dɪˈnɑmo ˈkɪjiw]) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kiev. Founded in 1927 as part of the Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, the club plays in the Ukrainian Premier League, and has never been relegated to a lower division. Their home is the 70,050 capacity Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex.

Since 1936 Dynamo has spent its entire history in the top league of Soviet and later Ukrainian football. Its most successful periods are associated with Valeriy Lobanovskyi, who coached the team during three stints, leading them to numerous domestic and European titles. Dynamo Kyiv became the only Soviet club that managed to overcome the total hegemony of Moscow-based clubs in the Soviet Top League. The Spartak Moscow–Dynamo Kyiv derby became the most exciting football rivalry in the Soviet Union that almost completely eclipsed the Spartak Moscow–Dynamo Moscow rivalry. Since late 1960s the club has participated in the UEFA continental competitions almost every year. It is the first Soviet football club that started to participate in the UEFA European competitions since 1965.

FC Dynamo-3 Kyiv

FC Dynamo-3 Kyiv is a Ukrainian football team based in Kiev, Ukraine. The team has been featured in the Ukrainian Second League, since it cannot be promoted to the Ukrainian First League, being a junior team from the FC Dynamo Kyiv franchise, which already has its 2nd tier team (FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv) in the First League.

Like most tributary teams, the best players are sent up to the senior team, meanwhile developing other junior players for further call-ups. The team consists of Dynamo's players whose average age is less than 20—In essence the club's future. The players usually progress to this team through the Dynamo Kyiv youth system.

Dynamo-3 Kyiv is withdrawn from the Ukrainian Second League 2008-09 season to allow MFK Mykolaiv reenter the PFL and compete.

FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv

FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv is the second football team of the Ukrainian football club Dynamo Kyiv based in Kiev, Ukraine. The team was created in 1946.

History

In 1946-1964 Dynamo-2 Kyiv played at the championship of Kiev city and the Ukrainian SSR. In 1965 the team replaced FC Temp Kiev (former FC Arsenal Kiev) in the Class B football competitions of the Soviet Union. In 1966-1991 Dynamo-2 Kyiv was renamed as Dynamo-d Kiev (as the Dynamo Kyiv double) and played in competition for reserves teams of the Soviet Top League. In 2004 when there was created a separate competition for reserve teams of the Ukrainian Premier League, the team was preserved and continues to compete at a professional level in regular league competitions.

The team has been featured regularly in the Ukrainian First League, since it cannot be promoted to the Ukrainian Premier League, being a reserve team from the FC Dynamo Kyiv franchise. Like most tributary teams, the best players are sent up to the senior team, meanwhile developing other players for further call-ups.
