2003–04 Croatian Second Football League

The 2003–04 Druga HNL (also known as 2. HNL) season was the 13th season of Croatia's second level football since its establishment in 1992. The league was contested in two regional groups (North Division and South Division), with 12 clubs each.

2014–15 Croatian Second Football League

The 2014–15 Croatian Second Football League (also known as Druga HNL or 2. HNL) is the 24th season of Croatia's second level football competition since its establishment in 1992.

NK Zagreb were league champions and earned a place in Croatia's first division, Croatian First Football League. Pomorac withdrew from the competition due to financial instability.

Format

The league is contested by 12 teams. Only two teams from Croatian Third Football League were granted license for competing in the second level - Bistra and Imotski.

Hrvatski Dragovoljac were relegated from 2013–14 Croatian First Football League.

1998–99 Croatian Second Football League

The 1998–99 Druga HNL was the 8th season of Druga HNL, the second level league in Croatian football.

The format of the league was changed and the five regional subdivisions which composed the Druga HNL in the 1997–98 season were merged into a single nationwide format for the 1998–99 season. A total of 19 clubs competed in Druga HNL this season, in a double round-robin format.

Croatian Third Football League

The Croatian Third Football League (Croatian: Treća hrvatska nogometna liga, or commonly Treća HNL or 3. HNL) is the third tier of the football league system in Croatia. The league was established in 1991 following the dissolution of the Yugoslav League. It is operated by the Croatian Football Federation.

Subdivisions

The teams are divided into three divisions: West, East and South, competing in a double round-robin format. At the end of each season, the bottom teams are relegated to the regional leagues while the winners of each league are either promoted directly to Druga HNL or enter a two-legged playoff to gain promotion.

Croatian First Football League

The Croatian First Football League (Croatian: Prva hrvatska nogometna liga, pronounced [pr̂ːvaː xř̩ʋaːtskaː nôɡomeːtnaː lǐːɡa]), also known as Prva HNL or 1. HNL) or for sponsorship reasons the MAXtv Prva Liga, is the top Croatian football league competition, established in 1992. The winners qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Dinamo Zagreb are the current champions, having won their tenth consecutive title in the 2014–15 season, and are the most successful club with 17 titles overall, followed by Hajduk Split with six titles.

Since 2003, the league has been named after its main sponsor, giving it the following names (Logos see below):

Overview

The league was formed in 1991, following the dissolution of the Yugoslav First League, and is operated by the Croatian Football Federation. Since its formation, the league went through many changes in its system and number of participating clubs. In the first three seasons two points were awarded for a win, from 1994–95 season this was changed to three points. Each season starts in late July or early August and ends in May, with a two-month hiatus between December and February. Currently, there are 10 teams participating in the league.

Croatian Second Football League

The Croatian Second Football League (Croatian: Druga hrvatska nogometna liga or commonly Druga HNL or 2.HNL) is the second highest football league in Croatia. The league was formed in 1991 with the dissolution of the Yugoslav Second League and it is operated by the Croatian Football Federation.

Between the 2001–02 season and 2005–06 season, the league was split in two divisions, one being the Northern Croatian Second League and the other being the Southern Croatian Second League. Each of these two leagues comprised twelve teams playing under a system pretty much identical to the one in the Prva HNL. However, since the start of the 2006–07 season, the united Croatian Second League comprises twelve teams from the entire country. Relegation from this division is into one of the regional divisions of the Treća HNL.
