Dream on the Volga
Dream on the Volga (Russian: Сон на Волге) is an opera in four acts composed by Anton Arensky. The libretto was adapted by Arensky from Alexander Ostrovsky's melodrama Voyevoda. The opera premiered on January 2, 1891 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow with Arensky conducting.
Background
Dream on the Volga was Arensky's first opera. He began working on it while still a student in Rimsky-Korsakov's composition class at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and finished it in 1890.Tchaikovsky, whose music also had a significant influence on Arensky, had twenty years earlier adapted the Ostrovsky play as an opera, The Voyevoda. However, Tchaikovsky was so dissatisfied with his own version that he later destroyed the manuscript score. Arensky's version was a much closer adaptation of the play than Tchaikovsky's which had condensed Ostrovsky's original five acts down to three. Tchaikovsky wrote to his brother Modest that he had not been very impressed when Arensky had played him fragments of the opera in St. Petersburg, but after going through the completed score in the summer of 1890 and then after seeing the premiere, he was convinced that it was one of the best Russian operas. He considered the music "very elegant" but went on to say that if it had one defect it was "a certain monotony of method" which reminded him of Rimsky-Korsakov.
Dream On!
Dream On! is a film which premiered in 1981 at the Festival International du Nouveau Cinema, Montreal. It was shot in 16mm film from 1975 to 1980, and was blown up to 35mm in 1984. The film's action follows a group of young actors as they struggle to survive in L.A. and hang on to their artistic principles. Ed Harris and Paul "Pee-wee Herman" Reubens have since become well known actors.
Plot summary
No relation to the later cable-TV sitcom of the same name, Dream On! is a tale of struggling LA actors seeking out an audience. This talented but impoverished troupe stages a "guerilla theatre" production, wherein each actor takes on a variety of characterizations. Given that the actors include an ex-hooker and a pair of mismatched homosexuals, perhaps the troupe is using their production as a means of escaping the torments of their own lives. Perhaps nothing—that's just what they're doing.

Dream On (Christian Falk song)
"Dream On" is an electronica song written by Christian Falk, Robyn, and Klas Åhlund. The song is produced and performed by Falk, with vocals from Robyn and The Ark's Ola Salo. The song appears on Falk's 2006 album People Say and was released as a single in Sweden, and later, the United Kingdom. Falk died on July 24 2014 after battling cancer.

The song was originally released on Christian Falk's second album People Say in 2006, and was released as a single in Sweden. "Dream On" later appeared on the North American release of Robyn without Ola Salo's vocals.Robyn was re-released in a number of territories with the addition of "Dream On". It was the lead single from the UK special edition of the album. In a November 2008 interview with Digital Spy, Robyn said that while the song was written in 2006, "these lyrics make a lot of sense now. The lyrics are about anyone who's a little bit on the outside - it doesn't have to be thugs, criminals, drug addicts or crazy people [...] It's about how people who are different in society are often discriminated against or bullied."

"Dream On" is a song recorded by Canadian country music artist Joan Kennedy. It was released in 1993 as the fourth single from her fifth studio album, Higher Ground. It peaked at number 9 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in December 1993.

Volga River
The Volga (Russian: Во́лга; IPA: [ˈvolɡə]) is the longest river in Europe; it is also Europe's largest river in terms of discharge and watershed. It flows through central Russia and into the Caspian Sea, and is widely viewed as the national river of Russia.
Eleven of the twenty largest cities of Russia, including the capital, Moscow, are in the Volga's watershed (drainage basin).

Nomenclature
The Russian hydronym Volga (Волга) derives from Proto-Slavic *vòlga "wetness, moisture", which is preserved in many Slavic languages, including Ukrainian volóha (воло́га) "moisture", Russian vlaga (влага) "moisture", Bulgarian vlaga (влага) "moisture", Czech vláha "dampness", Serbo-Croatian vlȁga "moisture", and Slovene vlaga "moisture" among others.
The Slavic name is a loan translation of earlier Scythian Rā (Ῥᾶ) "Volga", literally "wetness", cognate with Avestan Raŋhā "mythical stream" (also compare the derivation Sogdian r’k "vein, blood vessel" (*raha-ka),Persian رگ rag "vein") and Sanskrit rasā́- "liquid, juice; mythical river". The Scythian name survives in modern Mordvin Rav (Рав) "Volga".
