Dream On may refer to:
Dream On! is a film which premiered in 1981 at the Festival International du Nouveau Cinema, Montreal. It was shot in 16mm film from 1975 to 1980, and was blown up to 35mm in 1984. The film's action follows a group of young actors as they struggle to survive in L.A. and hang on to their artistic principles. Ed Harris and Paul "Pee-wee Herman" Reubens have since become well known actors.
No relation to the later cable-TV sitcom of the same name, Dream On! is a tale of struggling LA actors seeking out an audience. This talented but impoverished troupe stages a "guerilla theatre" production, wherein each actor takes on a variety of characterizations. Given that the actors include an ex-hooker and a pair of mismatched homosexuals, perhaps the troupe is using their production as a means of escaping the torments of their own lives. Perhaps nothing—that's just what they're doing.
"Dream On" is an electronica song written by Christian Falk, Robyn, and Klas Åhlund. The song is produced and performed by Falk, with vocals from Robyn and The Ark's Ola Salo. The song appears on Falk's 2006 album People Say and was released as a single in Sweden, and later, the United Kingdom. Falk died on July 24 2014 after battling cancer.
The song was originally released on Christian Falk's second album People Say in 2006, and was released as a single in Sweden. "Dream On" later appeared on the North American release of Robyn without Ola Salo's vocals.Robyn was re-released in a number of territories with the addition of "Dream On". It was the lead single from the UK special edition of the album. In a November 2008 interview with Digital Spy, Robyn said that while the song was written in 2006, "these lyrics make a lot of sense now. The lyrics are about anyone who's a little bit on the outside - it doesn't have to be thugs, criminals, drug addicts or crazy people [...] It's about how people who are different in society are often discriminated against or bullied."
"Dream On" is a song recorded by Canadian country music artist Joan Kennedy. It was released in 1993 as the fourth single from her fifth studio album, Higher Ground. It peaked at number 9 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in December 1993.
Dream On is an American adult-themed situation comedy about the family life, romantic life, and career of Martin Tupper, a divorced New York City book editor played by Brian Benben. The show distinctively interjected clips from older black and white television series to punctuate Tupper's feelings or thoughts. It was created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane, the team who would later create the TV show Friends. It ran for six seasons on HBO between 1990 and 1996.
The show centered on Martin Tupper's (Brian Benben) life in an apartment in New York City with his teenage son, and relating to his ex-wife, while trying to date other women and succeed as an editor for a small book publisher. The show was notable for its frequent use of clips from old movies and TV shows to express Martin's inner life and feelings, which lent it much of its quirky appeal, reminding viewers about the impact of TV on their consciousness. The show was also significant for being one of the first American sitcoms to use uncensored profanity and nudity.
"Dream On" is the nineteenth episode of the American television series Glee. The episode premiered on the Fox network on May 18, 2010. It was directed by Joss Whedon and written by series creator Brad Falchuk. Neil Patrick Harris guest-stars as former glee club star Bryan Ryan. Working as a school board auditor, he threatens to cut the glee club out of the budget, bitter at never having attained his own show-business dreams. Rachel (Lea Michele) attempts to find her birth mother, and Artie (Kevin McHale) struggles with his desire to walk. The episode title is a reference to Aerosmith's song "Dream On", also performed during the episode.
The episode features cover versions of seven songs, four of which were released as singles, available for digital download, and three of which are included on the soundtrack album Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers. "Dream On" was watched by 11.59 million American viewers and received generally positive reviews from critics. Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune, Bobby Hankinson of the Houston Chronicle, Gerrick. D Kennedy of the Los Angeles Times and Todd VanDerWerff of The A.V. Club all deemed it one of the best episodes of the season, while Aly Semigran of MTV, Entertainment Weekly's Tim Stack and Raymund Flandez of The Wall Street Journal praised the musical performances. Blair Baldwin of Zap2it in contrast felt that the songs were inconsistent, and while Harris' appearance was generally well received, Eric Goldman of IGN felt that his storyline was lacking in impact.
Blood drips down venetian blinds
I cut myself on the glass I grind
I'm on my knees on the floor|
Carpet stained with whiskey and blood
I dont know why I'm doing so much
I hurt but I feel no pain
When I see the morning rise
And I kick myself and I realise
I'm out on that road alone again
So I search my mind, destroy my soul
Turn my collar against the cold
I can't get of the road I'm on
I find solace in an empty shot glass
So I'll just keep dreaming on, dreaming on, dreaming on
I'm to scared to close my eyes
I get nightmares in starry skies
When will all of this end?
I'm on this merry-go-round
I'm up and then I'm down
I can't tell whats happened to me
I see no future in a death wish user
I'll just keep dreaming on, dreaming on, dreaming on
Said I'm dreaming on
Well it seems more or less, that I'm traped by my
own regrets, and I just can't see it any other way
Well I don't know why I can't say no
But it's just like a fever and it grows
It's getting stronger everyday
Too scared to close my eyes
I have nightmares and its' no suprise
Oh is it ever going to end
I'm on this merry go round
You take me up and you're taking me down
And I can't tell whats happening to me
But theres no horizons
Cause there's to much lying
I'll just keep dreaming on
Yeah now, I can see no future and thats for death wish users
I just keep dreaming on, dreaming on
Yeah dreaming on
