Killa (film)

Killa (The Fort) is a 2015 Indian Marathi drama film directed by Avinash Arun. The film revolves around an 11-year-old child who has a difficult time coping with the death of his father. The film was selected for the 64th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the Crystal Bear by the Children's Jury in the Generation KPlus Selection.

At the 62nd National Film Awards, it was awarded the Best Feature Film in Marathi Award, also actor Parth Bhalerao received Special Mention for his roles in Killa and Bhoothnath Returns. The film was released on June 26, 2015.

Production

The idea for Killa came to Avinash Arun when he was in the FTII and his father kept having to be transferred from job to job. Arun was having a difficult time finding work as a cinematographer, so he decided to pitch his idea to a fellow student Tushar Paranjape, who ended up turning it into a full script. When Indian indie production company JAR Pictures showed desire to fund independent cinema from up-and-coming directors, Avinash Arun told them about his story in March 2013. The company decided to greenlight the project, and it went on floors after four months.

Proof (rapper)

DeShaun Dupree Holton (October 2, 1973 – April 11, 2006), better known by his stage name Proof, was an American rapper and actor from Detroit, Michigan. During his career, he was a member of the groups 5 Elementz, Funky Cowboys, Promatic and most notably, D12. He was a close childhood friend of rapper Eminem, who lived on the same block. In 2006, Proof was shot and killed during an altercation at the CCC nightclub in Detroit.

Early life

DeShaun Dupree Holton was born to Sharallene "Pepper" Holton, a single mother. His father, McKinley Jackson, was a music producer who left to pursue his career prior to Holton's birth. Holton grew up in Warren, Michigan where he met childhood friend and future musical collaborator Marshall Mathers, who would later rise to fame as Eminem.

Proof (I Am Kloot song)

"Proof" – a song by English band I Am Kloot.

A demo version of "Proof" was released in 2001 as a B-side on the single "Morning Rain" from the album Natural History. This version is also included on the compilation album B from 2009.

In 2003, the song appeared on I Am Kloot's self-titled second album. Even after the making of a video for "Proof" (by Krishna Stott, featuring Christopher Eccleston), their then record label, Echo, subsequently shelved the release of the single. "Proof" was released on 21 June 2004 as a download-only single, but it did not receive its intended, full release.

Finally, in 2010, a remodelling of the song was produced for their fifth studio album, Mercury nominated Sky at Night. This new version of "Proof" was released as a download-only single on 6 September 2010 – the second single, following "Northern Skies". The 2010 video for "Proof" (the old video with the new audio) was also released in September 2010.

Windows DreamScene

Windows DreamScene is a utility that allows videos and .gif and other optimized animations to be used as desktop wallpapers. It is one of the Windows Ultimate Extras. Prior to its official announcement, DreamScene was rumored to be in creation under the names Motion Desktop and Borealis. After several months of testing, the final version was released on September 25, 2007.

Rendered content included with DreamScene (such as an animated realization of the Windows Aurora background) was produced by Stardock, while photographic content was provided by the Discovery Channel. Third-party video content in MPEG or WMV format may also be used. In addition, AVI files can be played by altering the file extension.

One of the purported advantages of DreamScene over previous methods of desktop animation is that it makes use of the GPU for display instead of the CPU, leaving the latter free to perform user tasks. To what extent this is achieved is not specified. When a full-screen program is run, such as a game or any window that is maximized, the video will automatically stop since the video will not be seen; this means it uses less GPU and CPU. The video can also be stopped manually. Content encoders need to strive for a balance between compression and file size; decompression requires the CPU, but larger files take up more memory and may cause the disk to be accessed more frequently.

Dream (chocolate)

Dream is a brand of white chocolate by Cadbury. It is no longer manufactured in the UK and Ireland, but is still produced in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It is similar to a Milkybar, which is made by Nestlé. Some of the difference between it and Milkybar is that "Dream" uses real cocoa butter, is slimmer then the Milkybar, and the Milkybar uses puffed rice. It was first launched in Australia and New Zealand in 2001. According to Cadbury, the product became one of the top five block chocolate brands in New Zealand and had driven growth in the overall chocolate market. In 2002, the product was launched in the United Kingdom and Canada and was featured in the credits for Coronation Street.

Dream (sculpture)

Dream is a sculpture and a piece of public art by Jaume Plensa in Sutton, St Helens, Merseyside. Costing approximately £1.8m, it was funded through The Big Art Project in coordination with the Arts Council England, The Art Fund and Channel 4.

Origin

In 2008 St Helens took part in Channel 4's "The Big Art Project" along with several other sites. The project culminated in the unveiling of Dream, a 66 feet sculpture located on the old Sutton Manor Colliery site.

St Helens retains strong cultural ties to the coal industry and has several monuments including the wrought iron gates of Sutton Manor Colliery, as well as the 1995 town centre installation by Thompson Dagnall known as "The Landings" (depicting individuals working a coal seam) and Arthur Fleischmann's Anderton Shearer monument (a piece of machinery first used at the Ravenhead Mine).

The council and local residents (including approximately 15 former miners from the colliery) were involved in the consultation and commission process through which Dream was selected. The plans involved a full landscaping of the surrounding area on land previously allowed to go wild after the closure of the pit.
