Bivouac (band)

Bivouac were a British alternative rock band from Derby who were active in the 1990s. They released two albums on the independent label Elemental, before being signed by DGC/Geffen for the 1995 album Full Size Boy.

History

The band was originally a trio of Paul Yeadon (vocals, guitar), Granville Marsden (bass guitar), and Antony Hodgkinson (drums). They were signed by Workers Playtime sub-label Elemental, releasing their debut EP in May 1992. Their sound was reminiscent of the grunge bands emerging from the United States, and they had support slots on tours by Fugazi and The Jesus Lizard. Debut album Tuber was released in 1993, and they went on to sign for DGC, with Keith York (formerly of Dr Phibes & the House of Wax Equations) joining the band to replace Hodgkinson.Full Size Boy was released in July 1995, and despite good reviews, the album did not sell well, and the band were dropped from their label and disbanded soon afterwards.

Yeadon has since turned to music production group The Moot group, which has produced bands such as Send More Paramedics, as well as forming the UK band The Wireless Stores, releasing an EP and an album in 2003 and 2006. Along with second drummer Keith York, Yeadon has also played with other bands including Pitchshifter. Original drummer Antony Hodgkinson (Tony The Interpretative Dancer) danced on stage for Nirvana;. Bassist Granville Marsden has since uploaded some of their unreleased demos from before they split to YouTube on his personal account.

Girlicious was an American girl group originally formed by Robin Antin, creator of the Pussycat Dolls, from The CW reality TV show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. The group was originally signed to Geffen Records and composed of members Nichole Cordova, Tiffanie Anderson, Chrystina Sayers and Natalie Mejia. Their self-titled debut album was released in Canada in August 2008 and reached number two on the Canadian Albums Chart. After Anderson left the group in June 2009, Girlicious signed with Universal Music Canada and released their second studio album, Rebuilt, in November 2010. Mejia and Sayers departed the group in February 2011. Nichole Cordova later announced the end of Girlicious, and her joining a new girl group called Girls United.

2007–11: Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, Girlicious and Rebuilt

Before the airing of the series premiere of the show, Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, the girls were already chosen for "Girlicious" and had started recording their debut album in late 2007. Originally the group was to be a trio, but was conceived as a quartet through a final decision of creator Robin Antin on the show's season finale. Thus far, they have received greater attention and major success from Canadian audiences, receiving platinum certification in Canada for their self-titled debut album Girlicious. The album peaked at number two on the Canadian Albums Chart. The group was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards for "Breakout Group" of the year, and Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious was nominated for "Reality: Music Competition" in 2008.

Drank (soda)

Drank is a grape flavored soft drink sold in the United States and Canada. It is marketed as a "Non-Energy" drink which causes relaxation as opposed to a sugar or caffeine jolt.

Drank contains three active ingredients: melatonin, rose hip and Valerian root.

Drank's slogan is "Slow Your Roll."

Introduction and Availability

Drank was introduced and manufactured by Innovative Beverage Group of Houston, Texas in January 2008. It was widely available in many convenience stores and saw brisk sales. In 2012, a new flavor "Island Time" was introduced, but to a lukewarm response. Poor sales of both flavors saw the product disappear off store shelves in 2013. In 2014, Drank was sold to Source Financial Group, L.L.C. who has reintroduced the brand. Its availability is much reduced and found in very select convenience stores in the Houston, TX and Saginaw, MI area. Little or no sources outside of Houston have been found, and it does not appear to have a website of its own.
