Numeral (linguistics)

In linguistics, a numeral is a member of a word class (or sometimes even a part of speech) designating numbers, such as the English word 'two' and the compound 'seventy-seven'.

Identifying numerals

Numerals may be attributive, as in two dogs, or pronominal, as in I saw two (of them).

Many words of different parts of speech indicate number or quantity. Quantifiers do not enumerate, or designate a specific number, but give another, often less specific, indication of amount. Examples are words such as every, most, least, some, etc. There are also number words which enumerate but are not a distinct part of speech, such as 'dozen', which is a noun, 'first', which is an adjective, or 'twice', which is an adverb. Numerals enumerate, but in addition have distinct grammatical behavior: when a numeral modifies a noun, it may replace the article: the/some dogs played in the park → twelve dogs played in the park. (Note that *dozen dogs played in the park is not grammatical, so 'dozen' is not a numeral.)

Gonzalo Barrios (esports player)

Gonzalo Barrios (born April 17, 1995), known by his gamertag ZeRo, is a Chilean professional Super Smash Bros. player. He is considered the best Super Smash Bros. for Wii U player in the world and a top ranked Super Smash Bros. Brawl player. He mains Diddy Kong and Sheik in Super Smash Brothers for the Nintendo Wii U, and mained Pit in Project M, Meta Knight in Brawl, and Fox in Melee.

Career

Barrios has had "ZeRo" as his gamertag since 2005. He has been playing Smash since Super Smash Bros. in 1999. He started to travel and play in Melee tournaments in a local Akiba Game Store in early 2007. ZeRo quit Smash completely until December of 2010 and then focused only on Brawl.

ZeRo placed second in Brawl at Apex 2014, losing to Nairo and was the champion of the Smash Wii U at Apex 2015. He defeated Dabuz, who was playing Captain Olimar, in the finals. ZeRo qualified for the MLG Anaheim 2014 championship bracket and finished 17th. ZeRo was ranked in 2014 by Melee it on Me as the 35th best Melee player in the world.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre discography

The discography of The Brian Jonestown Massacre (a San Francisco, CA based, neo-psychedelic band) consists of fourteen studio albums, thirteen EPs, five live albums, five compilation albums and ten singles, as well as appearing on various artist releases and soundtracks. They have one rockumentary (Dig!) to their credit and a DVD release of their music videos entitled Book of Days. Their music has been released by Bomp!, TVT and Tee Pee Records, among others.

In 1993 Bomp! and Tangible Records co-released a box set of 6 singles, each by a different San Francisco "psych" band. The bands were apparently handpicked by Anton Newcombe himself, and it is rumored that he also produced the music. Besides the Brian Jonestown Massacre, other bands featured included Orange, Nebtwister, and Hollowbody.

Dracula (1977 play)

Dracula is a 1977 Broadway play originally written by Hamilton Deane from the novel of the same name by Bram Stoker. Later revisions to the play were made by John L. Balderston, for the original 1927 Broadway production.

Plot

A charming Transylvanian count named Dracula, who is a vampire, goes out to seduce women for their blood.

Production

The 1977 revival was directed by Dennis Rosa, with sets and costumes by the renowned Edward Gorey. The play opened on October 20, 1977 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City, and closed on January 6, 1980 after 925 performances.

The original cast included Frank Langella as Count Dracula (later replaced by Raul Julia), Alan Coates as Jonathan Harker, Jerome Dempsey as Abraham Van Helsing, Dillon Evans as Dr. Seward, Baxter Harris as Butterworth, Richard Kavanaugh as R. M. Renfield, Gretchen Oehler as Miss Wells, and Ann Sachs as Lucy Seward.

The play was produced by Jujamcyn Theaters (under the direction of Richard G. Wolff, President), Elizabeth Ireland McCann, John Wulp, Victor Lurie, Nellie Nugent and Max Weitzenhoffer. Dracula was originally conceived and produced by the Nantucket Stage Company by John Wulp.

Dracula (TV series)

Dracula is a British-American horror drama television series. The series, a reimagining of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, was produced by London-based Carnival Films; it aired in the United States on NBC and in the United Kingdom on Sky Living. It was created by Cole Haddon, while Daniel Knauf served as showrunner and head writer.

The series was given a straight-to-series commitment of ten episodes. It was canceled after one season.

Premise

The series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. However, his plan is complicated when he falls in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard (アーカード, Ākādo, alt. "Arucard") is a fictional character and the protagonist and antihero of the Hellsing manga and anime series created by Kouta Hirano. He is a vampire and is devoted entirely to the current head of the Hellsing family (Integra Hellsing during the timeline of the story) and good friends with Walter. He also feels admiration towards his fledgling, Seras Victoria. Alucard works with the Hellsing Organization against other vampires and evil forces. He fights with ferocity and often extreme cruelty, rarely killing until his target has been disabled and humiliated, while frequently allowing enemies more than one chance to kill him (though he seeks only to be killed by a human, having grown bored of immortality and life).

As revealed in volume 8 of the manga, he is Count Dracula ("Alucard" is "Dracula" spelled backwards). Soon after the events presented in Bram Stoker's original novel, Dracula was defeated by Abraham Van Helsing and became the family's loyal servant. Decades later, Abraham's descendant Arthur Hellsing gives the Count his current name: "Alucard". The manga is set over a hundred years later, where the Hellsing Organization is forced to fight the remnants of a Nazi battalion.
