Dora Hand (c. 1844 – October 4, 1878) was an American dance hall singer and actress in Dodge City, Kansas, who was mistakenly shot to death from ambush by a young suitor, who was acquitted of criminal charges in the case. Hand was also linked romantically with James H. "Dog" Kelley, the mayor of Dodge City from 1877 to 1881.
Hand may have been born on the East Coast of the United States and some sources list her birth as early as 1840. According to legend, she was a descendant of a prominent unnamed Boston family, had studied music in Europe and had once performed opera in New York City. Like Doc Holliday, she had supposedly come to the American West to battle tuberculosis. When she arrived in Dodge City, possibly as early as May 1877 or as late as June 1878, she was divorced from her musician husband Theodore "Ted" Hand and used the stage name Fannie Keenan.
When Hand came to Dodge City, Mayor Kelley had already entered the restaurant business with Peter L. Beatty. Their Beatty & Kelley Restaurant adjoined the Alhambra Saloon, which they also co-owned. Fannie Garretson, another saloon singer, had encouraged her friend Dora to come to Dodge City. The two were earning $40 a week, a large amount at the time, at the Lady Gay Dance Hall and Saloon, which was co-owned by Ben Springer and the peace officer James Masterson, a younger brother of Ed Masterson and Bat Masterson. An article in the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City describes Hand, accordingly: as "of medium height and build, with a face of classic beauty. There was a grace and charm in her walk. She dressed plainly, usually in black, and this color seemed to accentuate the ivory whiteness of her soft skin."
American Horror Story is an American horror television series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Described as an anthology series, each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a disparate set of characters, settings, and a storyline with its own beginning, middle, and end. However, Murphy has stated that all of the seasons are and will be connected by the end of the series.
The first season, subtitled Murder House, takes place during 2011 in Los Angeles, California and centers on a family that moves into a house haunted by its deceased former occupants. The second season, subtitled Asylum, takes place during 1964 in Massachusetts and follows the stories of the inmates and staff of an institution for the criminally insane. The third season, subtitled Coven, takes place during 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana and follows a coven of witches who face off against those who wish to destroy them. The fourth season, subtitled Freak Show, takes place during 1952 in Jupiter, Florida and focuses on one of the last remaining freak shows in America and its struggle to survive. The fifth season, subtitled Hotel, takes place during 2015 in Los Angeles, California and centers on the unusual occurrences and people of a mysterious and outdated hotel.

Dora 1 is a former German submarine base and bunker built during World War II in Trondheim, Norway. Trondheim was traditionally referred to as Drontheim in German, and the name DORA is the letter "D" in the German phonetic alphabet.
Following the occupation of Norway in 1940, it was soon realised that the country only had limited facilities for minor naval repairs. More extensive work usually meant a return to Germany. The capitulation of France two months later overshadowed the strategic importance of Norway to some extent, but it was still regarded as a better location for access to the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans than Germany. Nevertheless, better protection for U-boats from aerial attack was required so a bunker-building programme was instigated.
Construction of the bunker which would become part of the largest German naval base in Northern Europe, started in the autumn of 1941, one year after the invasion of Norway. The concrete roof was 3.5 m (11 ft 6 in) thick and reinforced with steel. The walls were also concrete but these were 3 m (9 ft 10 in) thick. The whole bunker was 153 m × 105 m (167 yd × 115 yd). The work was undertaken by the Todt Organisation's (OT) Einsatzgruppe 'Wiking' and the Sager & Wörner construction company from Munich.
A hand (Latin manus) is a prehensile, multi-fingered organ located at the end of the forearm or forelimb of primates such as humans, chimpanzees, monkeys, and lemurs. A few other vertebrates such as the koala (which has two opposable thumbs on each "hand" and fingerprints remarkably similar to human fingerprints) are often described as having "hands" instead of paws on their front limbs. The raccoon is usually described as having "hands" though opposable thumbs are lacking.
Fingers contain some of the densest areas of nerve endings on the body, are the richest source of tactile feedback, and have the greatest positioning capability of the body; thus the sense of touch is intimately associated with hands. Like other paired organs (eyes, feet, legs) each hand is dominantly controlled by the opposing brain hemisphere, so that handedness—the preferred hand choice for single-handed activities such as writing with a pencil, reflects individual brain functioning.
Some evolutionary anatomists use the term hand to refer to the appendage of digits on the forelimb more generally — for example, in the context of whether the three digits of the bird hand involved the same homologous loss of two digits as in the dinosaur hand.
System of a Down is the debut album by Armenian American rock band System of a Down, released in 1998. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on February 2, 2000. Two years later, after the success of Toxicity, it was certified platinum.
The cover artwork is from an anti-fascist, World War II-era poster designed by the artist John Heartfield for the Communist Party of Germany, which was contemporary with and directly against the Third Reich. The text on the original poster is: "5 fingers has a hand! With these 5 grab the enemy!" This slogan inspired part of the text contained on the back of the System of a Down album: "The hand has five fingers, capable and powerful, with the ability to destroy as well as create". Later, it is written in bold letters: "Open your eyes, open your mouths, close your hands and make a fist" (used later by Serj Tankian in the song "Uneducated Democracy").
Q magazine (10/01, p. 152) - 4 stars out of 5 - "This remains an excellent starting point for this most curious band".
The Hand is a fictional supervillain organization appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
The Hand is an order of evil mystical ninjas who are heavily involved in organized crime and mercenary activities such as assassination plots. The Hand covets power above all other objectives. They are primarily based in Japan, but operate internationally. They were founded in 1588 as a secret society of Japanese nationalist samurai but were soon co-opted by the Snakeroot, an ancient ninja clan which serves a primordial demon known only as "The Beast".
Members of the Hand are practitioners of powerful occult magic and can murder a person and bring that person back to life as a servant of the Hand, but a few are known to have reversed this programming. The Hand's most dangerous adversary is The Chaste, a band of warriors once led by Stick, the late, blind martial arts master and former mentor of Matt Murdock, who grew to become the costumed crime-fighter Daredevil and, after many bitter battles, would accept the offer of becoming the master of the Hand.
Been waiting so long, you still haven't phoned
So many sleepless nights spent here all alone
I've had it to here, I'm gonna get my way
Don't try to pass it off, I mean what I say
Went out of your way making sure you had won
Took my love and went, looks like you had your fun
Didn't beat around, stood me up and left town
Took my lifeline away and you still can't be found
Enough is enough I just can't take it no more
Don't take no time to explain, I heard it all before
Enough is enough, I'm sick of being polite
Don't need a promise of love over the telephone
Enough is enough
A phone call will do if you can spare the dime
Don't call collect agai, I'll diconnect the line
Our party of two just got reduced in size
Time for me to go, don't appologize
Enough is enough I just can't take it no more
Don't take no time to explain, I've heard it all before
Enough is enough, I'm sick of being polite
Don't need a promise of love over the telephone
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Been waiting so long, you still haven't phoned
So many sleepless nights spent here all alone
I've had it to here, I'm gonna get my way
Don't try to pass it off, I mean what I say

Don't take no time to explain, I've heard it all before
Enough is enough, I'm sick of being polite
Don't need a promise of love over the telephone
