Linkin Park

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000), which was certified diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Their following studio album Meteora continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium.Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade chart. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as the Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now by Kerrang!.

Having adapted nu metal and rap metal to a radio-friendly yet densely layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third-best debut week of any album that year. The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types in their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds and beats. Their fifth album, Living Things (2012), combines musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth and most recent album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound. The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay Z in their mashup EP Collision Course, and many others on the remix albums Reanimation and Recharged. Linkin Park has sold over 68 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

Minutes to Midnight (album)

Minutes to Midnight is the third studio album by American rock band Linkin Park, released on May 14, 2007, through Warner Bros. Records. The album was produced by Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin. Minutes to Midnight was the band's follow-up album to Meteora (2003) and features a shift in the group's musical direction. For the band, the album marks a beginning of deviation from their signature nu metal sound. Minutes to Midnight takes its title from the Doomsday Clock.

Linkin Park started work on their third studio album in 2003, taking a break to tour in support of Meteora in 2004. In this time period, the band formed numerous side projects; Mike Shinoda formed his hip hop side project Fort Minor, while Chester Bennington formed Dead by Sunrise, causing the album to be shelved temporarily. The band returned to work on the record afterward, taking on a different musical direction than the 2003 sessions while working with producer Rick Rubin. The album's completion was delayed several times for unknown reasons. Eventually, "What I've Done" was chosen as the album's lead single in April 2007, with the album seeing release in North America on May 15, 2007.

Part of me won' go away
Everyday reminded me how much I hated
    Waiting against concequences
Can't let you down I'm so senseless
Wanna cut it out of my soul
And live with a gaping hole
Take control of my life '
    Wash out all the burnt
I made the problems in the first place
Hang my head low cuz it's part of me
New cuts cover where the old ones are
    I'm sick of this
I can't stand the sand paper thoughts that grate on my sanity
I'd rather not even be the man that got stirred in the Mercury
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myslef free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
    I feel it everyday
I feel I'm in my way
I feel the swell up inside
I feel the swell up inside swallowing me
It can be frightining If you never felt it
    Once it spills out
You feel like touched by somthing angelic
And then melted down into a pool of peace
Cease to be the animal you used to be
    Rewrite the book of parts
    You know you're wrong
I feel the calm when the problems are all gone
    And you start to see
A little peice of yourself that you can't let be
A reason why you strike out for yourself
Take it to the depths at the bottom of the well
You know you can choose to loose the part of
Your heart where your race start to bruise
    You can live it
Willing to put a stop to whats just killing you
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myslef free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
Cut myself free willing me's not just whats killing me
    I feel it everyday
I feel I'm in my way
I feel the swell up inside
I feel the swell up inside swallowing me
Every time I look around I see how everything ought to be
Everytime I see myself there's always somthing wrong with me
Every time I look around I see how everything ought to be
Every time I see myself there's always something wrong with me
    I feel it everyday
I feel I'm in my way
I feel the swell up inside
I feel the swell up inside swallowing me
I feel the swell up inside
    Swell upinside swallowing me
I feel the swell up inside swallowing me
    Swell up inside sawllowing me
