Donald Pritzker

Donald N. Pritzker (October 31, 1932 – May 6, 1972) was an American entrepreneur, businessman, and member of the wealthy Pritzker family.

Early life and education

Pritzker was born to a Jewish family in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Fanny (née Doppelt) and A.N. Pritzker. He had two older brothers: Jay Pritzker (1922 - 1999) and Robert Pritzker (1926 - 2011). Pritzker graduated with a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from the law school at the University of Chicago.

Career

In 1961, after he graduated from law school, he went to work for the family company, the Marmon Group. His elder brother Jay Pritzker assigned him the task of managing the Hyatt Hotel chain. Donald moved to Atherton, California and went about developing the chain and soon became Hyatt's president. In 1967, the Pritzkers bought a newly built hotel in downtown Atlanta out of bankruptcy which had an unusual design consisting of a 21 story atrium lobby with external glass elevators, fountains, and caged tropical birds. Donald renamed it the Hyatt Regency Atlanta; it became an instant success and served as the architectural model for all future Hyatt hotels.

Donald (singer)

Donald Moatshe (born 7 February 1985), commonly known by the monomyn Donald, is a South African Afro-soul singer, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer, originally from the town of Rustenburg, in the North-West province.

Life and music career

Donald was born in the village of Kraalhoek in the North West province. He began singing at a young age in the church choir, and this is where his musical talent was discovered.

In the year 2008, he inked a recording deal with South African DJ Cleo on his Will of Steel imprint. The label released his debut album, which received a luke-warm reception. He departed from the DJ Cleo's label, and started is own imprint, D-Exclusive in 2011, and began production on his sophomore album Train of Love there.

He rose to fame in 2011 with his debut single I Deserve, which later appeared on his much anticipated and critically acclaimed sophomore album Love Train, which was released in 2012. He released three singles from the album, titled I Deserve, Denial, and Over the Moon. I Deserve topped the RAMs Top 100 & Top 40 Charts, as well as entering the Top 10 on the Media Guide charts, instantly making him a household name in South Africa. The success of the album brought him much attention, enabling him to make appearances on South African TV shows, Rhythm City, 3Talk with Noeleen, MTV Base, Vuzu and various others.

Other holdings have included the Superior Bank of Chicago, the TransUnion credit bureau and the Royal Caribbean cruise line.
