Domino (Genesis song)

"Domino" is a song written by the band Genesis for their 1986 album Invisible Touch. The song was the sixth track on the album. The music was written by the band, while the lyrics were written by keyboardist Tony Banks. The song is divided into two parts, "In the Glow of the Night" and "The Last Domino".

The song, though not released as a single, charted at number 29 on the Mainstream Rock Charts.

The B-side of the "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" single was the first half of this song, "In the Glow of the Night", while the B-side of "Invisible Touch" was the second part of the song, "The Last Domino".

During a clip titled "Tony talks about his inspiration" on the When in Rome 2007 DVD, Banks states that his inspiration for the song lyrics was the 1982 Lebanon War which was still being contested prior to the recording of Invisible Touch. He set the action on a hotel room in Beirut, minutes after bombs start to fall on the city.

Domino is the debut album by rapper, Domino. It was released on December 7, 1993 for Outburst Records, distributed by Columbia Records and was produced by DJ Battlecat. The album found great success, peaking at #39 on Billboard 200 and #10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Two singles from the album topped the charts, "Getto Jam" made it to #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Rap Singles and "Sweet Potato Pie" made it to #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Hot Rap Singles. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on March 1, 1994.

"Domino" is a popular song written in 1950, with music by Louis Ferrari. The original French lyrics were written by Jacques Plante, and English lyrics were supplied by Don Raye.

History

A big hit in France and all of Europe, "Domino" was introduced by the popular French singer André Claveau. It was also recorded by Patachou, Lucienne Delyle and many others. Hit records of the English-language version were made by Tony Martin and by Bing Crosby. The song was also recorded by Doris Day and by Andy Williams.

The recording by Tony Martin with Henri René and His Orchestra was made in Hollywood on October 2, 1951. It was released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-4343A (in USA) and by EMI on the His Master's Voice label as catalog number B 10167. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on October 26, 1951 and lasted 12 weeks on the chart, peaking at #9.

The recording by Bing Crosby was released by Decca Records as catalog number 27830. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on October 26, 1951 and lasted 6 weeks on the chart, peaking at #15.

Angel (Angel album)

Angel is the first album by the rock band Angel. "Tower", the keyboard-heavy opening track, was used widely during the late 1970s and early 1980s by album rock radio stations in the USA for various advertising purposes. The track is also on K-SHE radio's Classic List. Stitch (Experiment 626) is one of the namesake characters of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. Originally an illegal genetic experiment created by mad alien scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba to cause chaos across the galaxy, he is marked by his short temper and mischievous behavior (traits that endear him to his friend Lilo, who adopted him as her "dog"). He is voiced by his creator and the film's co-director, Chris Sanders, in all official media except the Stitch! anime, where he is voiced by Ben Diskin for its English dub.

Lilo Pelekai

Lilo Pelekai (/ˈliːloʊ/ LEE-loh) (literally, "lost" in Hawaiian) is the other namesake character of the franchise. She is a young Hawaiian girl who lives on the island of Kauaʻi with her older sister Nani and her extended family of alien visitors marooned on Earth. She is voiced by Daveigh Chase in all the films and Lilo & Stitch: The Series, except Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch where she was voiced by Dakota Fanning.
