Domenica

Domenica is a popular Greek rock band that was formed in Athens, in 1994.

Releases

Their first releases included several participations in albums of various artists. Their personal debut album, "Άχρηστα Ρολόγια" (Useless clocks), was released in 1999. Their next release in 2002 received a positive reception from the audience: it had the title "Μέσα στη βουή του δρόμου" (In the roar of the streets) and the single, under the same name, from this album became a success. In March 2004, Domenica had their third release, "Ιστορίες για μικρούς και μεγάλους" (Stories for children and adults). The song "Λίγη ζωή ακόμη" (Some more life) also became a hit-single and was rewarded.

In 2007, their album "Χίλιες φορές έτσι" (A thousand times that way) is their latest released album so far. Domenica have set to music a certain number of poems by Napoleon Lapathiotis and Mitsos Papanikolaou.

Awards

In 2003 Domenica were nominated and won an Arion Music award for the "Best band of entekhno". In April 2005, they were once more nominated and won the Arion Music award for the "Best alternative album". In June 2005, they won the Mad Video Music award for the "Best rock videoclip".

Domenica (American band)

Domenica refers to the music of songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Bekki Friesen. The Canadian band is based out of Los Angeles, California. Domenica can be classified as grunge/metal/pop, and is currently signed to C12 Records/EMI Canada, Spinning Inc in Japan, Rodeostar/Sony in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and Sony in Australia.

In 2010, Domenica played at Canadinns Stadium in Winnipeg, Canada for Rock on the Range.

Discography

The first Domenica album, The Luxury, was produced by Brandon Friesen and features tracks co-written by Marcos Curiel of P.O.D., with guest appearances by Curiel, in addition to Ernie Longoria, and Stevie Salas.

A sophomore album entitled "The Better In Us All" was released in Japan October 10, 2012. This album features appearances by Dave Ellefson (Megadeth), Gil Sharone (Puscifer, Dillinger Escape Plan, Stolen Babies), and Dominic Cifarelli (Scars On Broadway).

Television and film

In 2007, the track "I Love My Gun" was featured in the television series renegadepress.com. In 2008, Domenica performed live and interviewed on Episode 6 (Season 1) of Arbor Live, a national television show on APTN in Canada. Additionally, Bekki Friesen contributed vocals to "Give it All I've Got", the second main title song from the Center Stage 2: Turn It Up soundtrack. "What Goes Around" is featured in the movie soundtrack for Degrassi Takes Manhattan.

Domenica (film)

Domenica (also known as Sunday) is a 2001 Italian drama film directed by Wilma Labate. It entered the "Panorama" section at the 51st Berlin International Film Festival.
